On another yet to be addressed note, if the umps feel that machines may take over their jobs, which they should, I believe it's fair to say they'd be a lot more corrupt and try to get as much as they can while they can, verse trying to do an errorless job in hopes of a better chance of keeping their jobs.
I welcome your comments and comebacks if you have any left, but it looks like it'll get swept under the rug. If ChanceP, who started this thread has anything else to add, or would answer the questions I specifically asked, that would help to avert the let's just sweep it under ploy at this point now, wouldn't it?

Theres's corporate scandals, corrupt politicians/officials/police officers, abuse of power, etc etc. And yet people always seem to plainly believe sports venues happen to be oh so pure? Lol, sports gambling is a multi billion dollar industry... I mean of course everything will always be fair. Will there be crooked things and shady outcomes? No! Of course never! Theres so much money involved and people watching it has to be legit. Now of course those who complain 53 times about fixes on EVERY single game may be foolish. But those who deny and so strongly believe leagues are pure as saints may as well be foolish themselves. Government officials and police officers can be corrupt to the oblivion, we probably don't even need to mention corporate environments... Yet leagues are pure as saints? Let's not kid ourselves here. If you watch sports long enough and especially bet on it... AND possess some sort of common sense (hopefully) theres no way you have not at least seen several things throughout the course of a season in ALL sports... where it gets to that point in your mind you just have to draw that line between coincidence..

Exactly
Just like the alcohol, tobacco, food, drug, auto, oil, etc. industries have lobbyists fighting for their corrupt causes, you'll have folks being paid to stand up to the allegations of corruption in sports. Can't help seeing the tobacco company CEO's lying under oath to congress that they believe smoking isn't addictive or hazardous to one's health. The Marlboro men have all died of lung cancer. HelloIs there anyone in there So let's say the tobacco CEO's came out and said that their products are addictive, and by using them you have a great chance of dying a hideous cancerous death. Would they have made as many billions? You notice how smoking in public is pretty much banned due to health risks, yet the the government still allows for the sale of cigarettes? It's as plain as day and as clear as crystal. Sports are fixed, as much as cigarettes will cause cancer, yet you can still bet on a game as easily as you can buy a pack of smokes.
It's not about what is right. It's about what is profitable. Isn't it?
Like you try to illustrate, police and politicians are corrupted every day for the almighty dollar. To think sports is of some higher integrity, is merely a pipe dream.
