Toronto Blue Jays at the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Berrios vs Oviedo.

Berrios has not impressed much this year and he currently holds a 5.29 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP over 34 innings.

Over his last 3 outings he is 3.26/1.14 on ERA/WHIP.  Last 2, 3.65/1.26.

Lefties are hitting .343, righties .209.

The Pirates have 3 lefties and a switch hitter batting left today, 4 out of 9 will be hitting left handed.

Now Berrios is a REAL home/away split guy.  At home he is 0.75/0.75 ERA/WHIP, away he is 7.77/1.59.  That's right, no typos there.

Mr. Oviedo has had a lot of trouble in his last 2 starts.

He's now allowed 11 earned runs in his last two starts (7.2 innings) after surrendering just two runs over his previous 16.2 innings.

His last 2 games resulted in a 12.91/2.48 ERA/WHIP.

Oviedo's ERA is up to 4.78 with a 1.47 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB.

Lefties hitting .274 while righties are hitting .254 this year.

Really hard to not like the OVERs in this game.  Full game OVER 8.5 is -115,  Toronto TT OVER 4.5 is -105 and Pittsburgh TT OVER 3.5 is -135.

The Pirates have, however, not been hitting well.  Bit of an understatement with them having scored 10 runs in their last 7 games.  Cold as ice.  Might hold off on that one if you are being more conservative.

These are leans, not plays.  For now.

I posted this guidance earlier today about the Rockies/METS game.

The conservative play is Rockies RL +1.5 -110. Rockies TT OVER 3.5 +105 would be mildly aggressive. The Rockies F5 +.5 +120 would be aggressive.

All of them were winners.

Seems like almost every lean is winning today.

Boston Red Sox at the Philadelphia Phillies.  C. Kluber vs B. Falter

Mr. Kluber had a rough start to the season getting bombed by the O's.  His 13.50/3.00 ERA/WHIP has steadily come down now.

His last 2 outings were his best of the year going 3.18/1.24 ERA/WHIP.

Lefties are hitting .226 while righties .223.

Significant difference in his home/away splits.  Home 7.71/1.66 and away 4.22/0.94.

Several guys in the lineup tonight have had good success vs him.  His fastball is below 90mph this year, lowest of his career.

Mr. Falter started the year out good but it's gone downhill.  He has allowed three or more runs in four straight outings, raising his season ERA to 5.01.

In his last 2 outings, he has a 6.10/1.65 ERA/WHIP.

Lefties hitting .389 and righties .284. 

Boston ranks ahead of the Phillies in almost every major hitting metric.  That was a bit surprising to find out.

The Phillies are listed at -159 on the ML right now. 

If Kluber can continue his improvement tonight,  Boston has significant value in this spot at +139. 

The UNDER 9.5 at -125 is a hint that the books think Kluber might keep things under control.

LA Dodgers at San Diego Padres.  D. May vs B. Snell.

Mr. May has pitched "lucky" so far this year.  By that I mean he has been getting away with issuing too many walks. 

Seems he has only given up 1HR so that makes up for it quite a bit.

Also, batters are not hitting for average vs him with lefties going .179 and righties .154.

He pitches better away than at home with a 3.57.1.08 ERA/WHIP while on the road he goes 2.70/0.90 on the road.

Mr. Snell has lefties hitting .300 and righties .291. 

His last 3 games he is 3.94/1.44 on ERA/WHIP.

His line for the season is 29IP 33H 18R 17ER HR6 BB18 K33 and he is 5.28/1.76 ERA/WHIP on the season.  So he is pitching better lately.

I will admit to having a build in bias against Mr. Snell as he has lost me a lot of money in the past.

But I do like the Dodgers tonight at the +110 ML and the F5 at +110 as well.

Not an official play yet.  Just a lean.

 Nice hit Buff fading this guy,and beating his biggest play of the year with 10 units   He'll say his phone died before he could make the pick,or will "forget" that he laid 10 units on the Twins,but you made your play before the game started.  Again,nice call on Cleveland. 

Seriously, no one should ever risk 10% of their bankroll on a single MLB game.  Ever.  Did I say ever?  EVER!  The best teams lose 38% of the time.  The variance is too great.

JP France pitched pretty well.  I'm impressed.  Got out of bases loaded jams twice I think.
