I did in 8th grade Outdoor Education. We split into teams and had a contest.....had to start a fire, build it, and bring a pot of water to a boil. We finished in the middle of the pack.
Nice What method did you use for your fire if you remember?

I'm a fairly knowledgable outdoors man, but still havn't tried this.
I camp for 1-3 weeks/year, have gotten into the edible plants aspect of survivalism, fish and am learning to hunt, but starting a fire from scratch is still pretty hardcore to me.
greyhound, if you give this a go, report back on your success rate and method please.
Still haven't tried it. Can't find the energy or motivation.
