Its NOT a short week for miami which is usually the reason we take the home dogs in a spot like this. The better team is coming off a national tv game with a sloppy loss where their heisman candidate blew up with 4 picks. Line movement is not a total reverse bc the line did climb to 4 now 3'. The pitt "O" must run the ball and convert on third down to control the clock. I just feal too many thing have to go right for pitt to win. Better value out there saturday with C.Michigan, LaTech, Temple and Cincy. lean on Miami .....LIP

Haha, hope to see you on some of the same sides as me on friday and saturday.. and ur dolphins came through big for me this past sunday.. BoL my friend
Glad my Dolphins made you some cash this weekend my bruddah I had a company function to do on Sat & Sun so was busy with that all last week but got more time this week to get back to some football.
This game got me thinking too damn hard....I like the way Miami moved the ball on offense against a pretty tough Ohio St defense. Harris screwed everything up by throwing 4 interceptions in that game. Pitt is without their star DE Romeus so their is a chance Jacory can move the offense down the field but Miami is also without their star running back Cooper in this one.
Miami's defense could not find a way to stop Pryor in that game so I'm not sure how they will do against this Pitt offense with the rising of wr Jon Baldwin. This could also be a breakout game for Pitts running back Dion Lewis as he has looked terrible the first few games of the season.
If I was to touch this one I would wager on Pitt but not confident enough yet to do it.
Good luck

I respect the "Thursday home dog" theory, we have all benefited from it, but Miami just looks too fast/strong for a Pitt team missing it's best defensive player.
I am playing Miami and laying the points in what should be a good Thursday night game. Modest play giving respect for the "theory".
I am also looking at that attractive 2 game tease mentioned before: Pitt +11 and under 57. Tasty that one looks to be.

Biggest advantage in tonight's game is Miami's... in the person of QB Harris!
And, like stalker said above (in post#10), Pitt's loss of Big East first-team DE Romeus a big blow for the Panthers... and will certainly give plenty of time in the pocket for Harris to make things happen. Add the graduated Pitt tackles Mustakas and Williams... and that's 17 1/2 sacks from last season's hellacious Panther D!
I thought Harris moved his offense very well in Columbus... hell, Miami only punted twice. But, as we all saw, OSU picked off 4 passes to completely turn the tide... but, we don't see Pitt equalling that Buckeye D, do we?
Miami RB Berry held his own against that tough Ohio State D... rushing for 94 yds on just 16 carries.
Pitt QB Sunseri inexperienced and RB Lewis ineffective (at least so far TY).
Miami (FL) -4

Pitt is 1-14 SU vs Miami last 15... Last meeting in 2003!
Miami is 21-9-1 all time vs Pitt.
Can Jacory Harris come through in a big game?
I know public is on Miami 80%-20%.
I know it's Thursday night home dog on ESPN.
I know both teams have alot of hurt (not injured) players.
I know Miami has speed.
I know Pitt is at home.
And after all that... Miami -3 Small Play

MIAMI TEAM TOTAL 1ST HALF OVER 10.5
Miami - 26 Pittsburgh - 20
Hurricanes -3.5 under 49.5
I also know that the Canes are 2-21 as favs of less tha 20 off a SU loss in last 23 attempts. With that being said I'll lose my money on the Canes -3.5.
Good Luck amigos.

"FROM WUNDERDOG FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH"
Game: Miami at Pittsburgh (Thursday 9/23 7:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: Pittsburgh +3.5 (-110)
The 19th ranked Hurricanes invade Pittsburgh tonight. For Miami, it's been a tale of two games. In their opener, they were nearly flawless and won 45-0. In their second outing, Jacory Harris was picked off four times and the team was heavily penalized, leading to a 36-24 loss. The difference? In week one they played lowly Florida A&M and in week two, Ohio State. Miami is facing another solid team tonight. Pittsburgh is closer to Ohio State than Florida A&M. The Panthers lost their opener on the road to Utah and followed that up with a 38-16 win over New Hampshire. They are averaging 31 points per game and that's not good for Miami. The Canes, who gave up 36 last time out, are just 9-39 ATS in their last 48 gams when allowing 28 or more points. Pitt has covered the number 49 of the last 77 games in which they have scored 28 or more. The Panthers strength thus far has been their run defense. They have allowed just 3.1 yards per rush and held New Hampshire to just 73 yards. Under Dave Wannstedt, this team is 12-4 ATS followoing a game in which they held the opponent to 100 or less yards. This stadium is going to be rocking and hostile for Harris and the Canes. I like Pittsburgh to at least keep things close.
