SOS, strength of schedule is key to good bowl bets. Study it here https://www.bcftoys.com/2014-sos
Arkansas had the fourth toughest schedule including a hellacious run against the toughest SEC teams. Texas SOS was 51st. Arky should win this game easily.

I am a homer, and I don't have a good read on this game.
Arkansas beat LSU and Ole Miss with D, pounding the rock, and good game management by the QB. If the Ark D confuses the UT QB Swoopes, he will crumble like he did against the better teams (Baylor and especially TCU).
Texas gets Shipley back...I think Texas can make this a good game. I do not expect a blowout by either team. No Play for me.

in addition, the game is at Reliant Stadium in Houston. there will be 60K Texas fans there (at least 3/4). It will feel like a home game for Texas.
On pure talent (recruiting rankings) Texas has an advantage. But, those rankings don't always reflect talent on the field, and thus the outcome of the game...

Texas Longhorns (+6) They have the defense to shut down the power running game of Arkansas Another Big 12 team already whooped on Arkansas : Mizzou
Check your calendar, Mizzou is an SEC just like Arkansas. You must have been really confused when they appeared in the SEC championship the past two years. Maybe you thought they got lost?

The Razorbacks just survived arguably the toughest schedule in the country, with seven SEC foes that won eight-plus games (combined record of their SEC opponents: 73-25).
I will say I think Texas is better than most give them credit for. However Arkansas is the Wisconsin of the SEC, and battle tested.

Sorry you missed a really good CFB season because if you think that is the best set of backs in the country, you must have been on the Space Station and missed all the games. They aren't the best two backs in the West of the SEC, nor the Eastern part of the SEC, much less the entire country.
However, I do think they should win this game because Texas isn't hat good either. Hard to bet on a team where the dumbass coach left his crippled QB in and blew the Mizzou game but Arky will win, and should cover. Agree with most above, the under looks good as both like ball control offenses and have weak passing attacks. Small play on Arkansas and another on the under. It's bowl season, always hard to be sure who shows up.

Bret Bielema believes in pounding the rock and he has the best tandem of backs in D1 hands down, however Charlie Strong and his front seven are top three (3) in the country (behind LSU and Alabama) so there is NO way in hxll they are going to run HOG wild in this matchup. For the Hogs to beat Texas, Brandon Allen is going to have to have a BIG day in the air which he has shown is NOT his strong suit and my dollars say that won’t happen today.
With that being said, put me down for Texas plus the touchdown head start for a Dime AND Texas ML (+215) for a Nickel please. Thanks!

Well if you're counting Todd Gurley then I would say Georgia has the best backfield in the country with ease. Gurley, and Sony Michel are unbelievable. You could also argue Oregon has a better backfield with Royce Freeman and Byron Marshall, Pejrine and Ford are up there, Dak Prescott and Josh Robinson could technically be better as well as probably ten other teams, its tough to measure BC of their online and sos, Yeldon and Henry might be better if they had Arkansas line.
Don't get me wrong I def like their backfield but just hate when people make such blanket statements... Ohio state, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin may all have better back fields.

Didnt watch the Choklahoma game, pretty obvious the Texas players dont like coach Strong, two historically proud rpograms are just PATHETIC remnants, but ihave to give TEXAS the crown for laying down doormats of this bowl season!
