He's been coached by the best, and has worked with NFL draft picks.
Alabama loses three great OFFENSIVE LINEMEN who were three yr starters and now drafted first rd. I'll betchya Bama doesn't lose a step, and McCarron puts up similar numbers.
Manziel is more electrifying--he does what he wants w/ the ball, and is slusive , smart, and makes plays where one isn't. Unless a team needs a Brett Favre protege, that's risky to draft a Manziel for a pro set offense.
I'm not a Bama homey. Not an ardent SEC supporter. Just thinkin I'd rather have McCarron over Manziel (be a tuff choice, and I think manziel makes things happen)
I see why the nation likes watching Manziel and he is for real. But McCarron is the character QB. Manziel has the foot speed, the last miilisec brainspeed, the huge bear claw hands to grip and spin the ball how he wants. But is the charactyer there?
BTW, A&M has hired the same lawyers that Cam Newton diid so Cam could play the last 4 games of the year . Expect Johnny to play vs Bama, but sit out a few games early.

CANNOT argue w/ their no 1 projected pick in Ville's Bridgewater. That win over Forida was epic. Ville gets just abt everyone back, and Ville fans are thinkin Louisville > Florida, so they're liking their chances to be in the NC mix at the end. Can't argue that one. Schedule is favorable.
But again, I think McCarron is better for a team and should go higer than Manziel. Maybe Manziel IS the next Brett Favre and I'm missing that while it happens. I just think character wins out.

Many scouts would like to see him make more plays .. Not to mention he plays around nothing but NFL talent.
While none of that is his fault, some would like to see how he would fair if he didn't have a great team around him and had to do a little more himself.

Got mad respect for you bro but McCarron is a backseat QB. Not even comparable to JMoney. 2nd half play calling: 99 pass attempts 294 rushing attempts. Although a lot of that has to do with Bama being in the lead going into the 2nd half, it still shows that McCarron rarely gets put in situations where HE has to win the game.
Manziel is a beast, and he isn't what the media makes him out to be, he's a legit dude. I was chillin with him at the pool about a month ago an he seemed like a genuine mofo. That was right before he twtd about wanting to leave CS haha

He's a pro prospect for sure...........but that doesn't always mean much. Every year we see a few guys get drafted high (not just qb's) that simply don't end up panning out.

@ gr8nader, post#7 - yeah bama has the lead in alot of second halves, but in two games last year mccarron executed really well vs good defenses while down in the second half.
-the lsu game of course he made some great plays on the game winning drive - the a&m game he led them back from a 3 td deficit, to the 1 yard line of taking the lead late in the game (and i blame the play calling/excellent a&m defense for bama not punching it in to take the lead)

This is such a joke. Louisville struggled mightily with FIU, southern miss, south florida, Rutgers, and lost to uconn and was butt pounded by syracuse.
Louisville was unranked before beating florida in the sugar bowl...
I will stand up and say louisville loses twice this year and goes 5-7 or worse against the spread...
Yes they are good. But they don't blow teams out ever...ill fade all year im sure... It starts with OHIO +21

Manziel's greatest gift is his attitude. He luvs the game, luvs a challenge, and besides the great personality, he has the skill sets in spades.
But any team will be all about him. Do you want that for your pro offense?
I think your goal is balance. McCarron appears stable, won't make too may mistakes, and will play within a system.
Granted some systems are just dull and are no good anyway, and they NEED a Manziel. But Manziel is playing within a system geared fro QB production. They will coordiante scoring plays. How would he do on a more 'boring' team, say the Raiders?

My biggest criticism is that, aside from the national championship games, he has not performed well in tough games. As of right now, I don't think he is the type of QB that can lead a NFL team to the Super Bowl. I would grade him as a 3rd rounder.
