Weeks 0 and 1

Nine days to go!

RSW;  Penn St Over 10.5 wins +125  1 unit

Bet this last month. Schedule looks doable, they grabbed Knowles from the Buc's, a couple of wr's from the portal. Looks like this is their best chance to get it all. Only concern is they lost Tyler Warren Sr to the NFL. That guy saved their ass in many games.

Week 0; not much I like here. Just for some early action, WKU/SHSU Over 60.5,  0.5 units. 

Both teams rebuilt via portal. Bearkats totally new coaching staff. Bearkat defense looks like the weakest group here, Hilltoppers looking not much better on D. Expecting a shootout. Do also lean WKU here -10 and may throw an inplay wager on the Hilltoppers. (I won't post inplays as part of my record)

Week 1; Rutgers -13.5 vs Ohio, 0.25 units. this line started out low in early summer, around -10, and has been inching up. Grabbed it on Aug 7th before it got to -14. Schiano doesn't mess around in game 1's and has covered last 5 years. 

Purdue -17.5 vs Ball St -108, 0.25 units. Our man Spottie was pointing this one out last month and upon inspection I like it too. Ball St not trending anywhere, Boilermakers with new coach, Odom, and some decent portal grabs should be trending up. Purdue with very tough schedule, gotta shine when you can.

Texas at Ohio St Under 48.5 -112,  0.5 units. Game looks like a tossup with home field advantage to Buc's. Day is already calling for a loud crowd. Believe both teams will be tight early and often and Under being the best play. May also put a little on there being OT to cover the play.

Week #2; Michigan @ Oklahoma -2.5  -110, 1 full unit. Being a wolv fan I have lost so many Michigan bets you would think I would stay away. Actually too critical when it comes to Mich. But here I go again. Sooners just look hungry this year and made moves to improve. Their depth chart full of seniors while Michigan a younger group. Big home game and under Moore wolv's were 1-3 on the road last year with Buckeyes the lone road win. How well Mich D is early in the season will decide this one, IMO. Going with the home team.

Dogs that could cover? Cinci +6, could see this a 3-4 point game either way. Old Dominion, had my eye at +23.5 vs Indy, see it down to +22.5 at DK. Just seems a bit high as does Penn St at -44.5 vs Nev. The Franklin run up the score history kicking in here.

 RU -11.5 is one of my biggest plays. Saw it at -14.5 today on DK.

ps - your FCS UNI Panthers  with a new head coach for the first time in like 24 years.  Will be interesting to see if he can rebuild.  ….. and yes, I remember that team is not the true originals of the name UNIMAN.

cignetti is going to run it up on ODU…To assure the fan base and the college football world that last year was not a fluke.  Night Game in Bloomington…It’s already a sell out.  Sure the line is inflated, by an estimated 4-5 points…But, Indiana should cover, barring heavy rain or some  other factor that would speed the game up, and even the odds.  ODU is well coached, but this looks like a mismatch…It’s a strong lean for me for week one, but no wagers made yet.

Correction - the Indiana v ODU game on August 30, 2025 is at 2:30 pm.

 More of an intuition type play then anything else LH. Indy led FBS last year with an avg of 12.8pts over the spread. Was thinking if it's +24 or more I might throw a little at it. Cignetti made a statement in his first year with all those blowouts, just wonder if he keeps it up? And how will the books adjust? With these early cupcakes always a question of prep and motivation whether or not they cover big spreads. With Cignetti the prep will be there, but what if he wants that 2nd, 3rd string with more experience at the expense of a blowout? Always a gamble.

 Card looks great, just gotta see how things play out, any thoughts on UNLV -25 .5 , Dan mullins, the old Florida coach takes over and that Go Go offense can put up points fast,  I see A 55-13 or 51-16 type of game , unless some unforeseen things take place

IU has even bigger cupcakes in week 2 and week 3, Kennesaw State and Indiana State, to play the backups, prior to the showdown with Illinois...Week 1 is a statement game for IU, against a respectable ODU.   I will assume his teams at JM played ODU in FCS prior to both joining the big boys.   He knows they are well coached and legit.   From a traditional perspective, its seems like a lot of chalk, for sorry assed IU...the basketball school, against anybody...Cignetti is a different beast...I am betting that, like the elites of college football, a pay day beatdown for ODU...Two years ago, ODU upset Va Tech at ODU, so there will be no surprises for Cignetti's staff...Week 2 and Week 3 will be 50+ point beatdowns, prior to Illinois, so this will be the "we are ready" for Illinois, and we will tweek in week 2 and week 3...I think this line will be 26+ prior to kick off...How's that for a rationale...I think I have convinced myself...the homer and alumnus that I am...  You might even say a tout!    Just trying to help my friends...But, do your own research!

 Yes, Cignetti knows coach Rahne's Old Dominion. Played them twice in FBS in 2022 and 2023, won as a 3pt fav by 34 and as a 20 pt by just 3.

Have not looked hard at the UNLV/Idaho St game. Looks like UNLV defense is full of transfers. Steele has every defensive unit downgraded.

 The only fact that I know of in this game is UNLV has never been as high as -25.5 in any game. 

With all the off-season moves I wouldn’t touch them.  I’d love to see UNLV fall back to being dogs against like competition.  That probably won’t happen often this season.
