TCU would dominate in the SEC

Now that they carry the media focus like Top 3 have all season.... this is usually where TCU has had problems.  Would not be surprised for the Wyoming game to be way closer than expected.

You just don't get it.  It's not is TCU better than this team, this team, and this team.  It's playing a tough SEC schedule all season long.  It takes a toll and its why its so rare than an SEC team goes undefeated.

Yes TCU is better then MOST SEC teams, BUT they would 100% have a slip up or two during the year.

Could they beat ANY team in the country? Yes.

Would they lose at least 2 games playing in the SEC? Absolutely.

tcu is a very good team, as is boise st & cinci but there's a big difference playing 3 or 4 big & athletic teams out of a 12 game schedule & playing that type of team almost every week. the bottom of the sec is better than the bottom of the wac or mountain west & the mid level teams are a lot better than the mid level of those confrences. in one game on a nuetral field they would have a shot. week in & week out i don't think so. i think tcu or boise would be 9-3 with the same schedule that florida & alabama are going to be 12-0 with.

Take a team like Ole Miss they're 7-3 and unranked... imagine if they played in the TCU's conference... come on man they'd probably be the most talented team in the MWC, but they're 3-3 in the SEC and unranked...

TCU is indeed a very good team, but if you put them in the SEC they wouldnt be able to win week in and week out. They simply dont have the recruits/talent that Florida, LSU, Alabama ect... possess. They deserve a BCS birth, but in no way,shape, or form deserve to be in Pasadena over Bama, Florida, and Texas. If TCU and Boise started scheduling legit games (like BYU did against Oklahoma) then you could have a legit argument. But when your three toughest games are Clemson, BYU, and Utah you dont have to much of an argument. You can say Utah beat Alabama and therefor are a better team, but any person in their right mind could see the lack of motivation and preparation Bama had after that hard fought loss to Florida, and by the way that Utah team that beat Alabama was a whole lot better than the Utah team that scored 20+ points on TCU. Alabama/Florida are the two best D's in the nation, they wouldnt have given up over 10.

only 1 team (Alabama) has a quality non-conference win, and even they only played one non-conference game worth mentioning... the west has a couple of teams with wins worth noting (Auburn vs WVa, LSU @ Wash and Ark @ A&M)... but even those don't get anyone too excited... Florida probably gets a B or C grade depending on how badly they beat Florida St...

 

so where is this SEC dominance?  i'm not buying it this year... not to the extent it has been in the past... i just don't think you can say that "SEC schedule" is all that rigorous this year... get past LSU or Ol Miss and you are good to go... how is that any different from USC having to play Oregon, Stanford and Cal?  because once you get down to Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky in the SEC, you are getting into some pretty sorry ass football teams...

If you recall, Alabama did not play their entire offensive line against Utah in that Bowl game last year.

What most young studs around here do not understand is the fact that certain coaches do not give priority to winning bowl games. Their first goal is to keep their jobs. Hell, if they have gotten to a bowl game, then they have done their job.
 In the case last year, it was Nick Saban's first year so his priority was building a championship team. How do you do that ? Getting experienced players as soon as possible.

If they are playing a bowl game for a national championship, then that's a different story. Other than that, if you notice a coach will try to get all his players in that bowl game, whether he wins or not. Just my opinion after watching bowl games for years.

the reason is simple.....talent and resulting depth issues would make it impossible in the (LONG TERM) for this to happen
       * good way to see (roughly)  what type of talent a team has is to check Steele's rankings of each player as they come out of high school....> that PS #___.......an average of several scouting services....YOU SAY.....wait a minute.....players improve.....those numbers don't mean anything.....DUH.....they improve at other schools TOO....frogs actually have one of the best training / conditioning programs in the country.....so players (might)  get a little better at TCU ......than many other schools.....

* won at Virginia (now 3-7......coach should get fired) by 16....at that time of year...cavs 5 pts worse than miss st....8 pts worse than vandy
* great win at clemson by 4....although very good now....tigers not so great THEN.....lost to maryland the following week....at that point.clemson rated about as good as s caro....so equivalent of beating (about) the 6th best team in the SEC .....best win probably
* beat a solid air force team (there)  by 3....about as good as kentucky maybe
* pounded byu in provo....same cougar team that lost to fla st on same field by 26...good win though.....maybe similar (being generous here)..... to beating arkansas .....or tenn .......again 5th -6th beat team in SEC 
* beat the crap outta overrated utah at home.....about as good as kentucky or s caro.....(both would beat the utes IMO)...

Didn't the SEC win the last 3 National Championships? Hasn't the SEC won more BCS National Championships than any other conference? I love how there is always some jackass trying to cut down the SEC using erroneous logic. Is the SEC having a down year? Yes but they are still far and away the best conference in the country. To me this speaks volumes of the quality of the conference that even during a down year it's still easily the best conference.

well just wait and see, Bookie... still haven't heard anybody say where on that brutal SEC schedule TCU is gonna lose 2 games?  the only potential loss would be @ LSU, playing the same schedule as Florida...

SEC is simply not deep this year... the top 4 teams are all the usual stuff for the SEC... but after that it gets weak fast...

Yeah the bottom of the SEC is better than the bottom of the MWC just like last year when bottom feeder MWC team Wyoming went into Knoxville and beat bottom feeder SEC team Tennessee 13-7 or maybe just like the time before that in 2005 when bottom feeder MWC team Wyoming beat bottom feeder Mississippi @ ol Miss 24-14 or the year before that when Wyoming beat Mississippi 37-35 @ Laramie.
I am not saying the MWC is better than the SEC but this SEC plays the toughest schedule because of their conference bullshit is ridiculous.  SEC teams never hardly travel out of the south in out of conference games .

Comparing Mountain West to SEC is ridiculous!!  TCU does not have to play in a conference were every game is crucial, and legit athletes beat up on eachother every week.  TCU would probably win a few games but, (Bama, LSU, FL, GA, SC,Tenn even Arky) would "Dismantle Them"

Please remember that the loser of the SEC title game cannot be "up" for a game with TCU.....TCU has everything to gain....This is no judge of who is better....Put TCU in the SEC and they're lucky to win 5-6 games....The punishing schedule week after week will wear them down....AnotheR thing that upsets me is the infamous BOISE ST......Let them play Florida or BAMA of their damn blue turf just to shut up the jerks out there who think they can play with them....Take a look at the SEC---it spells SPEED!....

I understand your logic, but to say TCU would "absolutely" lose any of the 3 games you have listed as losses is ridiculous. Tenn got beat at home by UCLA, LSU squeaked by Wash and VT got embarrassed at home on Thursday nite by the Heels. SEC schedule doesn't have the street cred it usually does IMO. Look at all of the impressive SEC wins out of conference this year and you'll see what I'm talking about.

The most impressive SEC non-con win this year is Aub over WV IMO. Second is #2 Bama over #15 VT at a neutral site, by 10. I think the parity in CFB is really taking shape this year. The BCS leaders are doing so by namesake.
