There's a lot of love for the Mean Green out there as they're 3-0 coming off a drubbing of WSU.
Let me tell you that WSU is in absolute shambles. Dickert left em in a bad way imo, and it's gonna be a tough rebuild. In particular is how astonishingly bad their run game is.
North Texas will have to go from facing that non existent run game, to facing a team that does nothing but run. We all know the adage..."it's hard to prepare for the option".
We know that Army lost at home to Tarleton in week 1. Looked like a bad loss, and maybe it was. Fwiw, Tarleton is ranked 3rd in the FCS coaches poll. It was a game in which Army's starting qb got hurt early. Army missed 2 field goals, one in OT.
Army has rolled with QB Cale Hellums since he supplemented Dewayne Coleman. He kicked ass vs K State in his first start. Now, Army is off a bye so they get 2 weeks to prepare for this game.
North Texas beat the breaks off Lamar week 1.
Then in week 2, you can make the argument that their win vs Western Michigan was a bad one(if there is such thing as a bad win), compared to Army's "bad loss" vs Tarleton.
North Texas did not have a lead, ever, in that game. It got to double OT where they won with a FG. Western Michigan is 0-3(with a couple tough games vs Sparty and the illini).
I like what I've seen and read about QB Cale Hellums up to this point enough to back him, especially off a bye and at home. If he can play 75% as good as Bryson Daily I'd be happy.

That Utah vs TTU game is intriguing. Neither team has played anyone that gives you a real baseline of what the team can do. Then there is that $$$$$ TTU roster. It’s a 10am kickoff in Utah. My guess is that TTU wins by a lot, but this game will certainly frame the Big 12 going forward. if I was to rank the conference now vs preseason it would look at bit different. I’d move UH up to top tier. I’m still gonna keep ASU and Baylor up there as well with TTU. I’m sure about ISU and I think KSU is garbage. BOL
