NCAA FB GAME OF THE WEEK ****NAVY @MEMPHIS**** SAT 7PM
Played Navy Big at +8.5,
I would recommend getting down sooner then later before this line drops below 7.5.
Navy to me is one of the most underrated football teams in the country. The Midshipmen's only loss this year was @ Notre Dame (a game they were tied 7-7 after the first quarter and only losing 24-21 at the half (when Notre Dame kicked a FG as time expired on the first half.)
As I look at Memphis schedule and record, and the only real shocker is the Ole Miss game, when Miss was ranked #16 and Memphis #19. I say this, keeping in mind, that ND actually had a game vs. Georgia Tech who also runs the triple option to get game experience against Navy.
Though memphis has Heisman promoted QB Paxton Lynch getting all the press, the real star of the game will be Navy's QB (who is probably more deserving.)
Navy has one of the nations best weapons, that I think Memphis will have trouble with, that is in the form of Navy QB Keenan Reynolds, who actually tied the FBS all time record for rushing TD's in a career at 77. This week he will be going for soul possession of the all time record.
In the Notre Dame game, Reynolds actually missed most of the second quarter while he was nursing an injury in the locker room. He did return later in the game. That being the case, as I look at this game, I toss out the Notre Dame game for Navy... and the Miss game for Memphis... Minus those games, these teams are pretty even on their results in the rest of their schedules.
Though Memphis is ranked right now, navy is close, as they have been receiving top 25 votes for the past 5 weeks.
A look back at Navy's last 14 games, they have only lost twice. Both of those losses were to Notre Dame (in 2014 & 2015.)
Catching more then a TD, this being Memphis first look at the Navy triple option....I really like taking the Midshipmen in this spot.

Nice work. My only concern would be navys pass D. But they will run the ball all day and if they can keep Memphis qb sidelined they'll have a shot to win. BOL

Like I said before, in Navy's last 14 games they are 12-2 SU, with the only 2 losses to Notre Dame.
Awfully hard to pass up +8, with that quality of a QB and coach at Navy.
I have noticed the line has been dropping, so be sure to get down asap, so you can get at least +7.5 before they are all gone.

Love Navy but I am going to bet their team total over when it comes out- Memphis will pass all over them and I could see Memphis pulling away but Navy will get their fair share of points in this game.

I'm a bit concerned how Tulane outgained Navy by 100 yards? Sure, Tulane got up 14-0 on Memphis but then Memphis totally destroyed them scoring 41 straight points to win 41-14 and ended up outgaining Tulane by 300.
Of those 14 games for Navy only 2 have been true road games- a win at Uconn and a 42-40 win at South Alabama. Yikes
Only thing I can see is a possible look a head to Houston, but if Memphis tries they can name the score. Heck, even if they don't will win by 14+. The Tulane slow start will have them focused from the get go.

Tulane did not out rush Navy by 100 yards:
Tulane 7 for 123yds Navy 54 for 133yds
The only reason Tulane had more passing yards is because they were down big and abandon the run in the second half.
BTW the final was Navy 31-14
and Tulane scored their TD on the 2nd to last play of the game against Navy reserves.

Yea man. Great work along with write up. I actually have them ,Navy, at +10 on a parlay sheet with Oakland Raiders +7. And the way Tulane ran The ball on Memphis last week was pretty scary. BOL my friend and I hope u cash in. Peace

Like the play and also like the O65 as Navy will run wild, but Memphis will torch the Midshipmens secondary. ....
Navy actually can defend...but the are really good with ball control and clock management. They are a SMART team and well coached. I would favor less points then more...this game is huge for the teams conference standings and I think they call it closer to the vest.

Anybody who doesn't see this point total going over is NUTS Memphis will struggle to stop the run and Navy will struggle to stop Lynch....the OVER in this game looks very good ...I expect Memphis to play its best football....just not sure thats good enough to cover 8 against Navy....staying away from the line and taking the over

Not surprised by the line bouncing back, in fact I bet again elsewhere at +10. Looking at the betting percentages the public loves Memphis to cover this one. Problem is I think they are going to lose SU.
