1. The Texas Longhorns are where they are because of the Sam Bradford injury which led to the demise of Oklahoma this season.

2. No one plays defense in the Big 12 South. Of course you will be hitting the 40s on weekly basis.

3. Texas has not beaten anyone this season (with the exception of Nebraska who really should have lost to).

Colt McCoy should not win the Heisman, neither should Tim Tebow, neither earned it yesterday, so that leaves who, Alabama running back Mark Ingram with his Heisman worthy performance yesterday against the Gators. I couldn't care less if Ingram's a sophomore, he had 194 yards and scored three touchdowns. Amazing how he just ran through the Gator D. Wasn't the Gator D the best in the nation? Mark Ingram should be a legitimate contender to win the Heisman.

Texas is going to get smashed. Hey Colt, you think Nebraska's defense was good? Wait until you play Alabama! Bama minus whatever!

The offense was ugly but no one looks at the defensive stats because of McCoy.  Texas D held Nebraska to 106 total yards.  Defense wins championships!

it gives me warm fuzzies to see that there are actually human beings on this planet who have confidence in Texas in the NC game...

guess this is gonna be easier money than i thought... i would bet any amount of money i could find on Bama ML if this game were a pick em... won't be, of course... but if it is (-3) or less, this is actually free money!  Texas has about as close to ZERO chance of winning this as it gets...

Bama is a legit NC contender... Texas is not... no way they beat Bama... NONE!

Anything can happen but unless TX changes their offense a lot in the next month. "bama is going to sit in that zone and take away the short stuff just like Neb did and get the ball back. Unfortunately 'bama has a little offense kinda like A&M. I posted earlier anything can happen but I think 'bama looks GREAT right now.

they have a coaching egde!????

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SMOKING!?

go away with that ridiculous statement... Mack Brown vs. Nick Saban?  come on, dude... you're a tool for saying that... yea, Muschamp is a great coordinator, but gimme a break... did you watch the end of that game last night??  that fucking debaucle falls squarely on the coaching staff... when your QB is that oblivious to what is going on in the game, that means your coaches have not done their job on a very remedial level...

TEXAS HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING THE NC GAME... I SWEAR ON MY LIFE, IF TEXAS WINS YOU WILL ONLY SEE ONE POST FROM ME EVER AGAIN ON THESE FORUMS, PROCLAIMING MY COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE AND IDIOCY, SWALLOWING CROW, AND THEN DISAPPEARING FOREVER!

TEXAS HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING THIS GAME!

people overreact.

McElroy played his game of the season...FL's defense came out flat without their best pashrusher....Bama didn't have any turnovers.   in short, they played like a team with a chip on their shoulder.

TX went up against the best D player in football, eeked out a victory.  played great defense.

Alabama doesn' thave the d-line that Nebraska has.  anyone who thinks Cody is a disruptive as Suh doesn't know football.  NFL scouts will be the first to tell you.

we will see how McElroy reacts to a much better defensive line and against a coach who knows Saban inside and out.

Last year the team with the lowest YPPT (Yards Per Point) won it all with a very low YPPT of 9.8 FLORIDA.  This year there has been one team that has maintained a very low YPPT all year long at 10.6....TEXAS.  This game is exactly what Vegas was dreaming for.  Texas got lucky and won by 1 to get in and Bama beat down the defending National Champs, and now everyone is looking at what they just seen last week and thinking that is how this must end, with Bama beating down Texas, SEC always wins, dont they?  Well, I told you Texas all year long has maintained the lowest YPPT in all college football you do what you want with that info, but I will tell you Bama has maintained a YPPT of 13, this is a 2.5 difference in YPPT in this game.  Lucky to beat Nebraska, not really, Nebraska has a great defense, as does Bama.  Anyone who follows YPPT knows that it is a powerfull tool to see how teams matchup with maintaining field posistion and traveling distance for the offense.  My opinion is, Florida was over rated, Bama has a great defense, but Texas wins by 7.  gl

Very Interesting this YPPT info. I can see where it can be a bit skewed where some D's adopt a "bend but dont break philosophy" though. As a matter of interest where do you find this stat on each team.
I too agree that Neb D is far better than what people gave them credit for. The NC game too will be a close one.

Let's see, I remember 300 post about Bama crushing Utah! Bama is going to get revenge for the SEC game, lock of the year, 100 unit bets...bla, bla, bla! How soon we forget; anything can happen with a 30 day lay-off.

Total Offensive yards / total points scored.  Texas = avg 432 yrds per game / avg 40.7 points scored = YPPT of 10.6.  I track YPPT all year long, teams that are maintaining field posistion very well will be 9-11 YPPT, like in golf the lower the better.  Last year in the bowls UD's with lower YPPT and higher power rating went 7-0 ATS, with 6 winning SU. Boise St, Oregon, LSU, Va Tech, UK, Utah, Tulsa. gl to you horndaze.

"McElroy played his game of the season"

Wow, imagine that.  A quarterback playing the best game of the season in the biggest game of the season?  Colt McCoy did almost everything possible to lose that Big 12 Championship.

"Let's see, I remember 300 post about Bama crushing Utah! Bama is going to get revenge for the SEC game, lock of the year, 100 unit bets...bla, bla, bla! How soon we forget; anything can happen with a 30 day lay-off."

Do you not realize that Alabama was lacking motivation going into that bowl game?  They had just lost the biggest game of the year.  Not too mention they had to play without their best OL who went in the top 10 in the draft.  Also, that was the biggest stage for Utah to prove they were worthy.  This is for the Championship.  There will be no let down from Alabama.

"Last year the team with the lowest YPPT (Yards Per Point) won it all with a very low YPPT of 9.8 FLORIDA.  This year there has been one team that has maintained a very low YPPT all year long at 10.6....TEXAS."

I'm all for stats.  I'm a stat guy.  But stats won't predict a game.  It's all about matchups.  If this stat is so key, then who is #2?  Would they beat Bama?  In fact, Florida's YPPT is better than Bama.  How did that work out?

"Alabama doesn' thave the d-line that Nebraska has."

But Alabama has the better defense, top to bottom.  They have at least 3 1st round picks that I can see.  If you shut down Shipley? you will contain this offense.  Other than him, they have no big play threats.  The running game isn't strong enough to carry them.

"McElroy played his game of the season"

Wow, imagine that.  A quarterback playing the best game of the season in the biggest game of the season?  Colt McCoy did almost everything possible to lose that Big 12 Championship.
