SEC title gm: Bama 32-28. where was the D? oh the O was so good? what came first, the chicken or the egg? which is it? great O or crappy D?
bowl games:
LSU gave up 25 pts and 445 yds to Clemson
Miss St gave up 34 pts and 357 yds to N'western

So Caro gave up 28 pts and 360 yds to Mich
Fla gave up 33 pts and 336 yds to L'ville
Vandy gave up 24 pts and a 424 yds to NC State. they were outgained by 199 yds. +5 turnovers fluked their way to win
SEC OFFENSES in 2012 AS A WHOLE WERE SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE
dude, just take your 24 points already, and shut the F up...you made a low stakes bet on Va Tech, you got a favorable line from your perspective, and now you are trying to justify it with arbitrarily interpreted stats. If you did your research, then you should feel comfortable with your wager. if I were you, I would go stealth until about 10pm EST on Saturday, August 31, 2013. If Va Tech effectively plays a great game and covers or wins straight up, and you win your wager, then come back to covers, and I will be the first in a long line to congratulate you.

Its called confirmation bias. Its when your research leads you to the conclusion you thought was correct. Preconceived notions are tough to shake.
Now, you are looking at things subjectively, which is a common mistake that many people make. You cant look at a few scores and wrap up the game of football. You must look at it objectively.
So you picked 6 bowl games to prove your point. Problem with that is A) the teams they were facing were very good teams, so its not surprising they played well B) All opposing offenses had at least 1 month to prep, which doesnt happen during the season C) There is no lookaheads, letdowns etc
How many wins, between Clem, Mich, neb, NC St, NW and Lville, do you think they would have had if they had to play the following week (after the bowl game) in a night game in Baton Rouge vs LSU?
I am done with this topic. I am not an SEC homer. I know football.

Period.
Boom- Call it like i see it.
What does that mean?
Not sure what that has to do with the debate in general....
How many teams would have come into death valley S.C and won??
All offenses had a month to prepare?? Did the defenses not??
Hey man, it can't be both ways.
Not you.... but in general I argue with SEC fans all the time and they do that sort of thing. What thing? Make or twist things to " fit " there argument.

Guess SEC nation wont address the ugly number in the room....906
906 is the total yds between the " 2 " best teams in the SEC... Well, in the SEC Championship game. Alabama vs Georgia. Allllll that offense.
Nobody on mentioned that.
Almost a 1000yds of offense in a game " WHERE DEFENSE " is king.
So I say this, how?
How can it be?
It's called football guys. It's played all around the country the same way. Problem is there is a group ( EsecPN and it's cult.... Blind SEC nation average Joe Fan ) ....that can't see it.
The SEC has been the best overall conference the last several years, and deserve the recognition. But the Non-sense has to stop..... Quite frankly, The ignorance has to stop.
The Gap isnt as far as you " SEC nation " would like to think....
No matter how you twist your argument or change the rules tobestfit ......." THE SEC WAY "

This SEC haters rant sure looks a lot like a thread someone started last season where they took two heavily favored ACC teams, against two SEC teams, and proclaimed it to be the biggest bet of their life... How did that turn out for you?

Was mainly to point out you cant compare post season games to early/mid october games.
I'm not trying to twist anything. I'm simply saying if you are gonna pick a handful of games out of a season to prove your point, of course you are gonna pick the games that support your theory.
Anyways, f uck 2012. I'm done with it. Time to move on to my 70% 2013 season.

talk about how BAMA beat MICH the 1st sat of the year?
or BAMA beat ND on the final game of the yr?
what better way to compare then the bowl games?
6 of the neutral site bowl games where SEC defenses did not show up either in stopping scores, slowing yardage OR BOTH.
don't you hate when your beloved SEC defenses give up 30+ pts in non-conf games that can actually show how you fare when you're not facing some of your own conf piss poor offenses??

that's half your conf that was avg offensively compared to the rest of the country, and the bowl games prove that they were not playing BAMA every damn Sat.
half the teams in your conf have avg defenses at best.

Now i'm lost.
I didnt compare anything. I didnt pick those games to talk about. I was merely countering what gridironguy was saying.

As long as I get the pointspread win , whichever side I'm on, I personally don't care if It's by one or forty one. That goes for the SEC or any other conference. Everything else is irrelevant to me.
Helping Kama'aina to beat their " Local " since 1994.

I couldn't give two shits about the entire SEC, but give me a good #, and I'll be happy.

Anyone that knows what they are talking about knows UGA's defense was not very good and knew what would happen to them on the ground against Bama. UGA and Bama were not the top defenses in the league last year.

Yea you put your money on that same OC that is now at VT in his first year with a terrible QB.

His name is Scot Loeffler and he had very little to work with at Auburn in terms of QB and offense, his hands were tied by the whole mess down there.

Alabama is loaded as usual. Offensive line will need to gel fast, but my guess will wear down VT's defense in second half. 24 points is a lot. Unless VT found some offensive linemen in the offseason it will be another tough year for them. VT's program is starting a downhill slide. I wouldn't be surprised if Bama beat them by 30.

Then what happened at Florida too? Both teams offenses were not only fine before he came around and had more control, they were both dominant.
2010 at Florida, a guy named TEBOW was gone and the offense was in complete rebuilding mode.
2011, Loeffler ran Temple's offense and they averaged over 30 pts per game, which is their highest avg per game total in decades
2012 Auburn was a mess, every coach on the team starting with Chizik was a mess. They caught lightning with Cam Newton that bcs title yr, but aside from that the entire situation was cancerous.
2013 barring injury, i believe Logan Thomas will have his best statistical year as the starting QB at VATECH
