Duke line keeps falling...
Duke -13/Cal +7 (-130) (9.1/7)
Like I said earlier, Crabbe has been an integral part of the team since Franklin left and allowed Crabbe the space and opportunity to operate fully. However, the team has continued to compete game in and game out. Freshman G Jeff Powers, who scored 27 points combined in the first two games after Allen Crabbe was hurt, shot 3-for-10 against USC on Thursday and made just one of six 3-point tries. He did manage to tally 10 points, his third consecutive double-digit scoring game since getting his opportunity. This team needed Crabbe to get over the hump against SC and Wazzu but they have heart that has not been seen on a Cal hoops team since the early Braun teams in the 90's, imo. I don't mean to disparage last year's team but they had more pieces and a deeper rotation than this team does. This is truly a Monty team in that they play with heart and effort. They surely were flatter than a pancake on Thursday, but I expect a strong effort with or without Crabbe tonight, although I'm banking on him to play. He's had nearly three more full days to get healthy and he's a Los Angeles kid, so you know he's chomping at the bit to get back and play UCLA. I'll be tuning into to FSN before the game and hopefully they'll reveal his status... if's he's out, I can always come back and hit UCLA ML and give myself a middle opportunity, if I so choose (assuming Duke covers 13).
Lettin' this bitch ride........ Crabbe warming up and cheesin' ear to ear
