In everyone's opinion how would the UConn women fair against the average men's high school basketball team? Against a division 3 men's basketball team?
I have not seen them play nor do I intend to but they are blowing out every team they play including top 10 opponents. I have argued with a lot of my friends who play college basketball and they seem to think they would have no chance against a d-3 team. I actually think they could put up a fight and possibly win... am I dead wrong?

I say they would beat a decent D-2 team just on Fundamentals alone and superior coaching, further more most D/2 D/3 players are not your typical 6'5 6'6 combo players they are smaller so the women would not be giving up that much size I say they compete with a decent D2 team based on the above

Unless it's a high school top 25 team with multiple D1 players on it, I'd say they would crush most mens high school basketball teams.
Maybe I am way off, but most of these girls points come from 3 pointers shot from the hip, layups on fast breaks, and offensive rebounds. Men (especially my high school basketball team) would be quick enough to stop the layups and contest the 3 pointers, and fundamentally sound enough to stop the offensive rebounds. The biggest difference is strength and speed, not fundamentals. This would not be a HORSE game (where I believe the women would be better), but a game, where the men could play the game a foot above the women.

Too funny....there is absolutely NO WAY they could keep up with even a good DIII team...the mean are just too physical and fast for even these women to keep up with. Plus, most good men BB players can dunk. Their vertical is much more superior. What size BB do they compete with....the men have the advantage (with a little practice) either way...My son scrimmages/practices with the U of Iowa girls team...there are 9 men who do this. We have discussed this. He was a good HS player, earning all conference in 4A ball in Iowa. He said he has NO DOUBT they would beat the women. He is 6'4, and said when he really plays hard, he can block about anything underneath the women throw up.

I've been following basketball in a AA district in eastern VA for 12 years and can count on one hand the amount of dunks I've seen in that time period....you are correct to a certain extent I believe...but from what I've seen the vast majority of high school boy's teams do not play above the rim either.

Here in NY, at some of the gyms I go to that have courts, the UConn Women's team couldn't beat some pick up teams there no less a DIII team. I'm sure there are other cities like Chicago where this would hold true.
