eric gordon will not get a single shot off in the nba
kidding, but he's not going to be good.. still doesn't handle the ball that well (unlike guys like rose, cdr, rush, chester frazier, etc..) that jump shot looked terrible down the stretch, he's not gonna beat anyone off the dribble.. he would only ONLY fit in on a team that has a run and gun offense

He is a great kid, and I wish him nothing but the best and will be rooting him on. However, I do not think he is physically or mentally ready for the long haul of the NBA.

What a story book life. Played MJ's son in the movie Space Jam. Made himself into a McDonalds All American. Played at storied Indiana U. Now going to be a 1st round NBA draft pick.

And why not? The money is too good there and if that isn't enough his coach is gone. Can you blame him? If I were his friend or parent I'd tell him to go.

good kid my ass,he lyed to the illinois program and coaches for months ,than went and played for a cheating piece of shit
A little bitter about him not wanting to play for Illinois?
He was what, 18 when making a decision on where he wanted to play basketball for his collegiate career, and he's not a good kid because he changed his mind and went to a better program?
He's a good kid and has tons of talent. It was an obvious move for him to leave college as he has millions of dollars waiting for him. He will be a good NBA player, and possibly a great one. Those that think he won't make it at the next level have obviously never seen this kid play at his best.

I think Chase is right here. I live about 15 minutes from NCentral HSchool (where the Gordon boys played/play)
IMO, Eric has a game that is better suited for the NBA. He does not play team defense, but has shown signs of being able to control in a one on one setting.
No question he is NOT a ball handler, but big deal. Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, and EVEN Michael Jordan were never able to credit their ball handling skills as A+. In the NBA, if you're less than 7 foot, it doesn't mean you don't have to be stellar at everything. Jordan is a perfect example...Beginning of his career he was a high flier, shoot first/pass never player. He needed other guys (John Paxson, Pippen, Rodman) around him so he could exploit his best strengths and have them worry about the stuff he wasn't perfect at. Gordon is a pure shooter, he does attack the rim when he gets free, and he is an elite free throw shooter. When Jordan came out, I would have only given him the credit for attacking the rim. (It wasn't until later that he developed into such a good defender, free throw shooter, etc. Hell, he didn't develop that fade away until the second half of his career).
I AM IN NO WAY SAYING GORDON IS GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS ANY OF THE PLAYER I LISTED, so save your silly attacks.
The NBA is willing to pay for talent, and will continue to pay you as long as you can show that you have at least one elite facet to your game (Ask Rex Champman, Dan Majerle, Robert Horry, or Detlef Schrempf if you don't belive me).

Went to a "better program"? If we were in the 1980's, yeah. Indiana has made it past the first weekend once in the last fifteen years and has won the Big 10 the same number of times.

Indiana is one of the top basketball programs in the nation. I don't care what they've done in the past 5 or 10 years, they are still a top program.
