A win from Brazil give them huge momentum going into the round of 16. A win ensures that the Brazilians clinch Group A and play Chile next game. After watching the Netherlands brilliant performance in group stage, the Brazilians know they have a chance to control their destiny. Brazil's manager said he was for sure keeping his starting 11 the same, hoping they come out early and net an early goal. Even though Cameroon got routed 4-0 by a weaker Croatia, laying -2.5 on Brazil seems a little scary for me. There will be a lot of juice placed on Brazil, because the public favors Brazil by 98%. I think that is fair, because we have not seen Brazil in pure form, which is scary for the rest of the field. It's also alarming, because Brazil are multiple goal favorites every time. I have a slight idea that Cameroon may try to play spoiler for most of the match today, but Brazil have not lost a competitive match in Brazil in over 30 years. Brazil vs. Cameroon Spread: Brazil -2 (-200) 2u Prop: Brazil to win to nil (-188) 2u Prop: Brazil over 2.5 goals (-170) 2u Prop: Brazil over 3.5 goals (+130) 2u |

After Mexican GK Ochoa's world class performance against Brazil, Mexico are in a great spot to advance from Group A. Win/draw against Croatia, and Mexico are in. If Croatia get a win at full time, they advance over Mexico by 2 points. With that in mind, Mexico will be absolutely satisfied with a draw, but I think this game will be dominated by Croatia. Croatia are in a must-win situation to keep their World Cup dreams alive. The Croatians get several looks on goal, averaging just under 15 shots per game against Brazil and Cameroon. However, I think the Croatians have a slight edge to against Mexico, they have three forwards that have a knack for finding goal, and I expect Ochoa to get beaten once. Ultimately, this game will be low scoring, and I only expect to see a goal per half. Croatia vs. Mexico Spread: Croatia PK (EVEN) 2u ML: Draw (+235) 2u O/U: 2.5 Goals (-120) 2u Prop: Croatia -1/2 Corners (+115) 2u Prop: Final score 1-1 draw (5/1) 1u Prop: Final score 1-0 Mexico (7/1) 1u

The second morning game features the other two teams that will advance to bracket play. So far in the tournament, Netherlands have proven to be a competitive force, beating Spain (5-1) and Australia (3–2). If there is one thing that they have proven, it is that their 5 midfielders in the 4-5-1 formation are accurate as they are fast. Although Van Persie picked up a second yellow against Australia and is unable to play against Chile, this team has an extremely high amount of confidence.
However, chile understand that the result of this game determines the seedlngs for the round of 16. A loss = second place A tie = second place (goal differential tie breaker) A win = first place in the group Unfortunately for chile, Vidal May play limited minutes, if any at all, to recover from an ailing injury. With the Chileans already clinched, I see no reason for unwarranted injuries. Netherlands vs. Chile 1H: Netherlands PK (-110) 2u Spread: Netherlands PK (-110) 2u ML: Netherlands (+160) 2u O/U: Over 2.5 Goals (EVEN) 2u Prop: Arjen Robben anytime goal scorer (13/10) 1u Prop: Alexis Sanchez anytime goal scorer (11/8) 1u Prop: Both teams to score (-180) 1u Prop: Netherlands 3-2 final score (22/1) 1u

The first game features the two countries that will be playing their final game at World Cup: Australia and Spain. I think Spain's performance has been embarrassing thus far, only relying on reputation to win them games. Leaving Iker Casillas in goal has been a crucial mistake, for he has singlehandedly accounted for two goals against. Also, Spain have no vertical threat in the box to cross or swing in a corner. If you watch closely, the CB Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique the only guys able to get in contact with the ball. These guys are just getting old, and Australia smells blood. Even though Cahill is out for Australia, the guy that has scored HALF of Australia's World Cup goals in history, the Aussies are too proud to roll over and call it quits.
Australia vs. Spain Spread: Australia +1.5 (-140) ML: Draw (+360) |

For those that have not read, I have been only following US national team soccer for a few months, but I am extremely impressed with the new American identity. They played a gutsy game against Ghana, for all three of the injuries were due to hamstring cramping. Both second half subs, Brooks and Zusi, were responsible for the winning goal in the 88th minute. USA know they control their own destiny: win and they are in the round of 16.
Portugal have a suspended Pepe with a red card, injured Fabio Contraeo who is a key component to giving Ronaldo the ball, an injured Hugo Almeida who looks to relieve Ronaldo of pressure. That leaves Cristiano Ronaldo. I expect him to get his, but I think the USA have the guts to win. USA vs. Portugal USA (+260) 3u USA PK (+190) 3u |

After a heartbreaking defeat to Belgium, Algeria know their World Cup lives could end this afternoon. After Algeria scored the penalty against Belgium, they shelled up and hoped to pull out a win after defending for 75 minutes. Today, I think they feel like the South Koreans are beatable and will play them much more aggressively. Also, if Belgium wins today, South Korea know that their name game against a rested team could mean stolen points to advance in second place.
South Korea vs. Algeria Spread: South Korea PK (-130) 2u ML: Draw (+235) 2u O/U: Under 2 Goals (EVEN) 2u

With a win, Belgium have a chance to advance to the round of 16 and a chance to rest a banged up squad in the third game of group play. In its first game, Belgium allowed an early penalty to Algeria that put them down 1-0, but Belgium maintained focus and stole 3 points in a gritty 2-1 final. Russia's keeper allowed a pitiful goal by South Korea's striker to put Russia down 1-0 before a late strike equalized in the 76th minute, finalizing a 1-1 draw. From all the different scenarios I have ran, I believe that Belgium are the better team. In 11 of the 13 last Belgium international games played, the first goal has been scored in the 70th minute or later, equaling 8W and 2D for the Belgians. However, Russia are unbeaten in their last 8 international matches. I think there is value for betting the draw, but I don't see it happening today. Look for Vincent Kompany of Belgium to give Russia everything he has for 90 minutes. Belgium vs. Russia Spread: Belgium -.5 (-120) 2u O/U: Under 2.5 Goals (-130) 2u Prop: First goal scored between 71-80 minutes (16/1) 1uProp: Final score Belgium 1-0 (11/2) 1u |

I bet against Bosnia-Herzegovina last time when they played Argentina, but they had a chance to win the game. The own goal proved to be the difference in a 2-1 loss. Bosnia-Herzegovina have a chance to put themselves in the driver's seat for the round of 16. A win puts them in second place behind Argentina, and they have Iran yet to play. Last game, Bosnia took ALL of their shots outside the box. If they can get inside the box and get some runners from the midfield, I like them to score. Dzeko is 6 feet 4 inches tall. If he receives good service, he won't lose a header near goal. Also, even though Bosnia-Herzegovina have only one World Cup goal in history, their two strikers recorded 11 goals in the European qualifier. I think Nigeria keep this game close because of the implications of the group, with both teams benefitting from a draw. Nigeria vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina Spread: Nigeria +1/2 (+105) ML: Bosnia-Herzegovina -125 Prop: Edin Dzeko first goal scorer of the game (9/2)

This is a match up I have been looking forward to for some time. This is a rematch from the 2010 World Cup, where Germany beat Ghana. I expect Ghana to control 60% of possession and come out with an attacking mindset. Michael Essein is supposed to be making his way into the starting 11, forcing several balls into the box and creating chances to pressure Neuer. However, Germany are looking to prove their dominance as the best European team playing at World Cup. They look to be in great form, and Muller could very well repeat as FIFA's Golden Ball winner. Ghana's Midfielder Boateng made a terrible tackle on Germany's midfielder Michael Ballack in the 2010 match up, forcing Ballack out of World Cup. I expect Germany to establish their dominance and play tough, defensive football. Them Germans always prove to be clinical finishers near goal. Spread: Germany -1 (-220) O/U: Over 3 Goals (-130) Prop: Ghana OVER .5 goals (-130) Prop: Both teams to score - YES (-120) Then two small unit bets to try and steal a payout. Ghana 2 - 2 Germany (20/1) Germany 3 - 1 Ghana (9/1)

After a rough start to the BSH game, Argentina were able to escape with 3 points, thanks to the veteran Messi. Argentina can look to seal their fate at the top of Group F with a win over Iran, who is just coming off a 0-0 win against Nigeria. I have watched Iran several times this year, and they bottle up in the defensive half and clear any danger that comes their way. I think there is a lot of value in Argentina here (everything except laying -9000 on the money line). With Di Maria, Higuain, Aguero, and Messi, the Iranians will have no choice but to hold off wave after wave of Argentinian attacks. I expect a 1-0 Argetina lead at half time before Messi and company break through to get 2 or 3 more in the second half for a 4-0 final. Spread: Argentina -2.5 (+115) O/U: Over 3 Goals (-115) Prop: Argentina to Win Both Halves (-110) Germany/Ghana plays to come before kickoff.

0-3 start to today's games, Belgium started out much slower than expected. I have three four-unit plays for the games today to get back on track. These are the plays for the rest of the day. I've returned all the money I lost in the first couple days of World Cup and have already doubled up my bankroll. Looking to continue this hot surge with more plays today.
If Algeria do not score a goal before the 40th minute, they will hold the World Cup record for longest scoreless drought. I really think Belgium have a legitimate chance to advance from this group with discipline and patience. Hazard is not 100%, so I do not expect him to make a difference today. Vincent Kompany is the backbone of their defense, and I like a heavily favored Belgium team today. Belgium vs. Algeria First Half: Belgium -1/2 (-140) 2u Spread: Belgium -1.5 (-120) 2u Prop: Belgium to win both halves (+165) 1u I will be back for the later plays soon. Best of luck

Profitable day so far. After looking at the formations and weather conditions, I laid one more bet that holds extreme value. The USA are underdogs and love that mentality, giving them the win/draw option without laying any juice is a steal tonight.
