I'm a very small-time bettor, so this is an embarrassment of riches to me. I'm generally very conservative, so spreading out $50 is very difficult for me.
I have until the end of Thursday to use it all. How do you make the most efficient use of free bets? What are the smart picks? Would putting a significant amount on Penn State -6 be a good idea? |

Probably just espn.com3 if it's available for you

Name 9 defenses that were better than that of MSU. |

I hate that line. Tresselball vs. nobodies is still innately associated with OSU, and Meyer doesn't have his system and guys in place yet. This could easily be a 17 point win or a 48 point win for OSU.
I'm just going to put this game in a moneyline parlay. Abhor this line. |

bol Yeah not a big fan of Buffalo, they'd be first on my chopping block for when teasers open. I also don't believe in putting favorites in teasers. I feel like I could get much more value out of just money line parlaying them, if I'm confident enough. |

When they played an offense that had a little creativity (a heartbeat) and could score some - what happend to that great D? Notre Dame - 31 points Wisconsin - 31 points Wisconsin - 42 points Georgia - 30 points Michigan State having a top 10 defense (it's smoking mirrors to me.)
So essentially shutting out Ohio State in Columbus is meaningless (OSU scored a garbage time TD with 30 seconds left)? Holding always-hyped Michigan to 14 points, with a ton of personal fouls, is not significant? What about holding to Nebraska to essentially 17 points, with ZERO offensive support (Nebraska got pretty much a pick-6, can't blame the D for that)? Or what about completely wrecking Iowa until prevent-D mode? And in reality, ND only really scored 21 on the D- they got a fluke kick return D, and a pick-field goal. The Georgia game went into 3OT and they only put up 30. Name any other defense in the country that didn't give up 24+ points a few times? |

Bama is going to roll. UM is very, very, very over-hyped. They're basically Notre Dame with less historical success. I expect Bama to win by 24-31.

Are these garbage bets? Because holy crap are they tempting. It's like the underdog version of a moneyline parlay.
Here's a teaser that I have lined up, at -300 San Jose State +46.5 @ Stanford
Buffalo +58.5 @ Georgia
So Miss +40.5 @ Neb
Hawaii +61 @ USC
Wyoming +50.5 @ Texas
Kentucky +34.5 @ Louisville
Miami +22 @ BC How does this not hit? I have a couple secondary options for the couple of lines up there that I'm less confident about. |

Does Michigan State have the intensity to handle Ohio State on Sunday?

MSU has been a cover machine at home this year. I honestly think that you have to go back to non-con to find an MSU home game that they didn't cover.
And other than that, MSU matches up incredibly well with OSU- even during the disastrous 2010-11 season, MSU took OSU to the wire in Columbus. Payne and Nix are easily the most physical and athletic tandem in the conference to disrupt Sullinger. Appling isn't really a scorer, so Craft's defense won't affect too much of State's offense. Green is obviously a matchup nightmare. And MSU's bench is VASTLY superior to that of OSU, and MSU's thorough athleticism and physicality will likely wear down and frustrate the shallow Ohio State team, similar to what happened earlier in Columbus. And going to intangibles, senior day is tradition-rich at MSU and blowouts of solid to great opponents are common, like what was done to Purdue when the Baby Boilers were in full swing and Eric Gordon's Indiana. I usually ignore intangibles, but betting against Tom Izzo and Draymond Green at home, on Senior Day, with not only an outright B10 title on the line but also the chance to deny Michigan a championship, is a qualification for mental retardation. |

Sadly, Michigan will be preseason Top 10, but they'll drop quickly. People like to overlook the fact that UM built their 10-2 season on fairy dust and glitter, re: the retarded Notre Dame game and the circus OSU game. They weren't far from a mediocre 8-4 year, and that was with an exceedingly easy schedule: they got OSU after the team and coaches basically quit, and missed both Wisconsin and Penn State, which would have been likely losses, with PSU being a bit more of a toss-up.

Is there any way that this is not the best bet ever? For starters, Iowa is straight up a better team than Northwestern:
:Aaron White is Shurna except with talent and without acne : Melsahn Basabe is a TERRIBLE matchup for an unathletic team such as NW : Iowa has been rolling lately, only dropping at Illinois recently, and beating Wisconsin and Indiana. And then you have the intangibles: : Iowa is at home, where they usually have a solid home court advantage : Northwestern is reeling hardcore and their tourney hopes are shot : NW has basically no real road wins this year, only @ILL which barely counts at this point. I'm a diehard Michigan State fan so I follow the Big Ten closely and thus usually have a solid feel for the conference (I'm like 6-0 betting Wisconsin, 4-1 betting Michigan, 2-0 betting Iowa, etc) and holy crap do I have a good feeling about this. This is the type of bet that you bet the maximum on IMO. |
