UConn D is absolutely...ummm...not good. Iowa St. had 3 turnovers against Iowa or else OT could have been avoided. Iowa St. may not be an offensive powerhouse, but I see them all over the Huskies in this one. The one and only thing that makes me hesitate is that it's at UConn. Still leaning towards the Cyclones...ISU -4 and OVER 44.5.

I'm not disagreeing that Boise St. needs to "look good" versus every team they play whether that means scoring 50+ points each and every time or something, but there is no "committee" (there are two polls) and point margins are not part of the computer ratings process...just to be clear. I'm still LARGE on BSU. Ohio St. ALWAYS let's some sorry team hang around with them every single year. Not that Toledo is terrible (probably the third best team in state of Ohio behind OSU and Cincy), but that game shouldn't have been that close. |

As far as "traps" go, we had a classic one last week with FIU vs Louisville. And as far as a team needing to blow up just because they are national TV...it doesn't matter if it's the only game in the world and the whole world is watching or it's some backyard brawl, the teams play to win...period! The score is of no significance as long as you have more points than the other team. Besides, what would they be proving???...they are the brick-sh*t-house of an otherwise not so good conference? That's every year as it is anyway... |

Whoa...hold the phone! Who has Mich St beat this year...Fla Atl and Young St...??? Notre Dame has faced two quality opponents and has held the score close in both games while beating themselves with turnovers. Don't be surprised if this turns out to be a Fighting Irish coming out party. I'm still waiting for the line to drop, though...LOL!!!

Probably not too much interest for this game outside the state of Florida, but this Sooner is keeping his eye on FIU. They have a chance to run the table this year. FIU +4 at home...I'll take that.

How is Clemson favored here? Maybe because that hump of a QB they had last year is now playing pro baseball and not ruining Clemson fan's lives anymore. |

This is a "pre-line" comment...
I would expect LSU to be the favorite easily somewhere in the -8 to -12 range. Mississippi State has a slight edge in overall experience on the field. This game is in Starkville, however LSU has beaten Miss St. 12 TIMES IN A ROW. Statistically, MSU should have beaten Auburn except for all the rushing yards they gave up (235). Having said that, MSU still out-rushed Auburn by 100 yds. LSU held LaMichael James (Oregon RB), who rushed for over 1,000 yds in each of the past 2 years, to only 54 yds. Penalties and turnovers are really what did Oregon in against LSU. Had it not been for those, we could have had a very different result (I know...shoulda, woulda, coulda...). Keys to the game are MSU defense holding up against LSU's rushing game. MSU needs to be successful in the passing game and they should be able to be successful to a degree against LSU's defensive backfield, but if they can't sustain even a little bit of a running game, it's going to be a long night for the Bulldogs. If the line is LSU -12 or more, take the points. If the line is LSU -8 or less, give the points. I foresee a fairly high O/U given all the points both teams have been able to score AND despite this being an SEC matchup. I'd go with the under if it's more than 48. |

FIU +4...why? FIU has the more experienced QB, a senior with a ton of playing time, a potential Heisman candidate in TY Hilton, tremendous D line, and great athletes all over the place. LVL has just way too many freshmen in the line up to compete with a good FIU team overall. Don't be baited by the Odds Makers! Take FIU and the points. Upon first look, wouldn't you expect LVL to be a potential 14-20 point favorite at home, then see that -4 and say OH GOD, I have to take LVL?...well, not so fast, my friend!

Even with the suspensions, Miami still has "athletes" as they always do. Maryland will come in with high hopes and loads of confidence, not to mention they're at home. That was my thinking when taking the over...looking good at the half!
