This will be the first in a 'three in four' scenario for The Wild. So they need this game. The Ducks will be just as intent on avenging their OT loss at Xcel.

The only two wins Carolina has, were garnered against the Panthers (a team whom they own) and The Lightning (another team whom they prolly own).
This game will conclude Pittsburgh's current four-game road trip. Their chances at going undefeated look strong. The Penguins next game will be on 17 Oct. Perhaps, if this team's best players were all the same age as Bobby Guerin, they might tone things down for this game. However, that isn't the case. This also marks (I believe) the first meeting between these two, since The Canes got their ticket(s) punched by PIT in last season's Prince of Wales Conference Finals. PENS PL +220 |

Each team has amassed an enviable record, to this point. Of their respective two most recent games, I believe the Rangers have had the easier time of things; having only needed to beat the Ducks (on the back end of a b2b scenario for ANA) and an atrocious/hapless/listless Maple Leafs squad.
Although New York anticipated this game, as shown by playing Lundqvist in only one of those two aforementioned recent match; their doing so might give credence to the notion, that they are a little worried by this upstart (and veteran enhanced) Kings crew. When all is said and done, this will be their third game over a four day span. Which is never an easy task for any team. KINGS +150 |

MAC-Donald. Joey MacDonald* I think it is still too early to say how much COLORADO has improved their team. They didn't make any big-name acquisitions in the off-season. As near as I can tell, they caught the Sharks off-guard on Joe Sakic Night, and beat a bewildered B's club last night. Hopefully they themselves don't balk at this alleged "slam dunk" of a game.
Lastly, Budaj looks likely to start in net for them tonight. He definitely doesn't count in that category of 'team improvements'. BOL |

Each of these teams are playing in a b2b scenario. Toronto makes me cry. However, they are only able to do so; b/c every now and then . . . they make me smile. My guess is that Budaj (COL) will start in net against (McDonald) for this game. I like McDonald to lead The Leaf to their first victory, and break out of their "start to the season" funk.

The lone loss Columbus has registered is that 3-6 thumping, in their recent visit to San Jose (the Sharks home-opener). Calgary put up a 5-0 lead last night, only to have it ripped from them by the home-side Chicago Blackhawks. Did these two meet in the playoffs last season? I believe the home side is about to score some recompense.

Ryan Miller has a 0.99 GAA. Conversely, the Wings have no real solidification at their net-minder position (IMO). I'll take the home side.
