2024 Stanley Cup odds

Carolina Hurricanes vs New York Rangers series odds and predictions

Team To win To win in 6 To win in 7
Canes Carolina Hurricanes +195 N/A +195
Rangers New York Rangers -240 +140 +200

Despite winning the Presidents' Trophy for best regular-season record, the New York Rangers headed into their series with the Carolina Hurricanes as underdogs. The Rangers won the season series, 2-1, sandwiching two low-scoring one-goal wins with a 6-1 blowout loss.

After jumping out to a 3-0 series lead with three straight one-goal victories, the Hurricanes have rattled off back-to-back wins to pull closer in the best-of-7. Four teams in NHL history have successfully mounted a comeback to win a series after trailing 3-0 with the most recent example being the 2014 Los Angeles Kings, who fought back from that deficit against the San Jose Sharks. Those Kings eventually won the Stanley Cup.

Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers series odds and predictions

Team To win To win in 6 To win in 7
Canes Boston Bruins +500 N/A +500
Panthers Florida Panthers -700 -150 +210

It's been an ugly series in more ways than one between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers thus far, with the Bruins skating to a 5-1 win in Game 1 before the Panthers chased Jeremy Swayman in Game 2 en route to a 6-1 triumph.

The Bruins have stepped up defensively, taking Game 5 by a score of 2-1 to halt Florida's momentum. Swayman stopped 28 pucks on Tuesday night.

Edmonton Oilers vs Vancouver Canucks series odds and predictions

Team To win To win in 6 To win in 7
Oilers Edmonton Oilers -200 +140 +250
Canucks Vancouver Canucks +165 +475 +350

The last two Canadian teams standing square off in the Western Conference semifinals, with the Vancouver Canucks playing host to the Edmonton Oilers.

Home ice hasn't mattered much lately, with Connor McDavid & Co. dropping Game 3 in Edmonton before scoring in the final minute of Game 4 to win in Vancouver.

Colorado Avalanche vs Dallas Stars series odds

Team To win To win in 5 To win in 6 To win in 7
Avalanche Colorado Avalanche +750 N/A N/A +750
Stars Dallas Stars -1,200 -150 +325 +650

The Dallas Stars were among the most balanced NHL teams heading into the postseason, as they ranked in the Top 10 in wins, goals for, goals against, power play, penalty kill, shots for, and shots against in the regular season.

After surviving the lone seven-game series of the NHL playoffs' opening round, the Stars dropped Game 1 to Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche despite racing out to a three-goal lead, but they answered back with three straight wins, including a dominant 5-1 victory to push the Avs to the edge.

NHL Playoffs 2024 Format

The Stanley Cup Playoffs feature 16 teams, including eight from each conference. The playoffs consist of four rounds of best-of-seven series in which teams must win four games to advance.

The top three teams from each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. The remaining teams compete among the other teams in their conference for wild card positions, of which there are two in the East and two in the West.

The top team in each division faces the two wild card teams in the first round, while the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds play divisional matchups. With eight teams advancing to the second round, the bracket continues until the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Champions meet in the Stanley Cup Final.
