Duke 41, Kansas 3:
Freshman Shaun Wilson ran roughshod over the visiting Jayhawks for a school-record 245 yards and three long touchdowns on 12 carries to lift the Blue Devils.

Wilson scored on a 69-yard run in the first half and added touchdown runs of 68 and 45 yards in the second as Duke improved to 3-0. The Blue Devils amassed 511 yards of offense, including 331 on the ground.

Quarterback Anthony Boone rebounded from a lackluster first half to finish 19-of-33 for 180 yards and scoring passes of 36 and 10 yards to Max McCaffrey. Duke Coach David Cutcliffe told ESPN on his way to the locker room with a 20-3 lead that Boone was not himself in the first half when he went 9-of-22 for 99 yards.

That wasn’t a problem in the second half as Boone went 10-of-11 for 81 yards and the 10-yard score to McCaffrey, who finished with seven catches for 79 yards and two scores. Duke's defense had two interceptions that set up short field goals and held the Jayhawks to just a first-quarter field goal.

Kansas (1-1) struggled to create any offense, especially in the air where Montell Cozart was 11-of-27 for 89 yards and two interceptions. The Jayhawks were able to find some success running with 202 yards, led by 87 on 16 carries from true freshman Corey Avery.

NOTEBOOK: Kansas coach Charlie Weis fell to 4-21 since taking over at Kansas, which opened the season with a win over Southeast Missouri State. … The win improves Duke’s streak of non-conference home wins to nine. … Wilson entered the game with 79 yards and no touchdowns on nine carries in Duke’s first two wins.
