Was he on welfare?
Was he on welfare?
I don't think he should resign or be fired, etc. I am with Club on this.
I think its hypocrtical to feign anger about taxplayer funds being used for drugs when he is using taxpayer funds to fund drugs. I am not surprised that you find that anyone who questions him is either liberal or anti-drug. The mytical tea party has you hook, line, and sinker, to promote their family values and you are too blinded or in awe by their rhetoric to see it.

Mostly because I am a lemming, I do not give a crap about drugs.
I think the welfare idea was stupid, but understand why some people found the idea attractive. I cant count the times that I have gone to work, and seen poor people passed out in their lawns, or in a park especially when I lived and worked in DC.
When I say anti drug, you should understand, I mean they are most likely anti drug for everyone else. Not necessarily themselves. This is almost to a T how the human brain perceives almost everything, and it is also where the will to rule, and authoritarianism comes from. There is always a perspective that "I can handle it" or "at least I know my limits" that perpetuate these same beliefs in people that do utilize drugs. Most notably alcohol.
I am sure this dude got some toot, and told himself that he could handle it, and "some other people" may have a problem, but he was above that, he was elected to office for Christ's sake. Highly functional addicts are probably even more likely to have this view than normal people who don't partake.

It is pretty clear that anyone from his district would make that vote. That makes him a hypocrite, but there is another word for it in Washington...... Politician.

He is like many on both sides of the aisle who believe
DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO
At the end of the day we shouldnt put these people up on pedastals nor should we expect much honesty out of them.
Hypocrites?.....you betcha
