At this point, I have to believe that CG just has a typical square mentality that results in losing everything.
Think about it.
Not all cappers here are that bad. In fact some are very good and have terrible bankroll management.
I could play poker for 24 hours, start with a $100, build it up to $2000 on the 24th hour and then push all-in with 7/2 on a bluff and end up the same as the guy who busted out for $100 right off the bat. But I'm actually in WORSE shape.
I lost opportunity cost to make money doing something else or spending time with the valued individuals in my life.
That is why you see so many threads on here complaining about much of their life was wasted on sports gambling, all with a negative ROI.
CG is not a terrible capper. He has enough intuition to survive. But the BR management is just off-the-charts horrendous.
And that will spell his doom. He can't survive.
Perhaps if he watches Rounders and tries to be like Joey Knish, grinding to survive, he could make it.
But he needs to be Mike or Worm with pipe dreams of winning the World Series.
I'm stating much of the obvious but it was time for a refresher.
Now, he hasn't stated how much he has left in a while. 10K? I'm still trying to get confirmation that he went into his 401K account. Is that true?
i agree with you,scalabrine...unlike most in the thread i dont think that college gambler is the worst, most square picker around(even tho his results show otherwise)...if we take wat we've heard as given-ie.that he has had multiple successful seasons in a few sports then he does have some track record to speak of..i truly believe that the pressure of doing this in the situation that he's in has completely scrambled his brain in terms of finding the best play and obviously it just gets exacerbated with every loss as the hole gets deeper and deeper and debt grows.......in a vacuum it wudnt shock me to see him able to find winners consistently and come out ahead.........but as you say its just pointless even trying if you have zero discipline and zero money management and zero emotional control....those things are as important as breathing if ya wanna even contemplate trying to make a living at this cruel bit.ch of a hobby.
as for his retirement fund withdrawal, this is where i take issue with those that claim his unfailing honesty is his redeeming feature in all of this...to me if you say youre opening a thread to share a journey in a fully disclosed, transparent manner then to with-hold rather important details like your bankroll amount and where it originated amounts to dishonesty by omission.
for wat its worth he apparently admitted to taking from it on the other site...but who knows how much and how often......but lets face it,he's in so deep that he's just gonna keep siphoning from it till its all gone at this point....this is an addict on full tilt,a blind man can see that...no rational, sensible thought process will play a part at this juncture.
