If the Twins get to the Yankees middle relief early....this game has 8-1 written all over it. Yankees middle relief is painful. Hope to see human gasoline can Chamberlain. |

Just saw weather is perfect in MN. Could make a difference in the total for those thinking the weather in OCT in MN could play a part.

Had TEX/TB UNDER as my play of the day. Had to sweat it out but we got home. All angles point to NYY tonight with Sabathia going against the Twins lineup but this might be a spot where I will go against logic. I believe this is a MUST win for NYY knowing they have a shaky starting staff behind him. NYY is counting on two wins from CC so a MN win here would be huge for the Twins. MN has made a living on beating some very good pitchers this year. That list includes Halladay, Price and Hernandez. Obviously, Liriano is the key to the whole equation. Being from MN, I see a lot of Twins games and have seen Liriano pitch a lot. His numbers look better on paper than they do when you actually see the game. Key line drives hit right at someone have helped him tremendously. That being said, if he gets out of the 1st two innings unscathed, he can go a long way. He typically settles down. Head says NYY, gut instinct says MN in a minor upset. Feel free to go to my covers page to see my wsite with more detail. PREDICTION: MN 3-2 BET: MN ML (small) and MN series (big) |

I was wondering the same thing. Let's see, straight bill, doo-rag, dreadlocks and hat on crooked. Can you say all class and very professional? Halladay has none of that going on....and, oh, by the way, he's still in the game and CIN is hitless. Less time on sillyness and more time on getting ready to pitch....good advice for Eddy... |

They don't have a real shut down pitcher. Bullpen is good but Capps is shaky. Hitting is suspect in many spots. Not sure how they beat some of the teams remaining. But, that's why they play the game. |

Of course I was 13 at the time but still remember it like it was yesterday. I hope that I can experience another one like that one more time in my life so that I can take my boys to it. Good stuff. I was always wondering but never got around to it. BOL Hutch! I'm with you on that. I'm from MN and followed the Twins since the late '70's. In my opinion, the call of "....and we'll see you...tomorrow night" is one of the greatest of all time. Man that was fun. |

Have the under big in this spot. In my opinion, getting by the first two innings will set the tone. Both of these guys get stronger as the game goes on. Expecting 1-0 or 1-1 after 6 innings. |

Phillies - Rays is exactly how I see it. Absolutely certain that NYY will not make it this year. They are VERY vulnerable with their starting pitching and middle relief. I'm from MN but feel that the winner of the TEX/TB series goes to the World Series. PHI should win the series in a cantor, however. |

Anyone else like this game to go under 7? I'm not sure why this total isn't closer to 6 or at worst, 6.5. Price is automatic at home and Lee is a top 5 pitcher that dominated last post season. Am I missing something? (Go to my site to see the charts on these two guys...it's unreal. You have to go to https://spaces.covers.com/ThePhantom my covers page to find me site). |

No. Never, ever play run lines in the playoffs. They are really bad bets. A lot of games can be one sided and still end up a one run game. Since most playoff games are low scoring, I wouldn't play the run line. Besides, Volquez is great against left-handers, which PHI has many important ones, and he could pitch a great game today. |
