moved the pocket more with Burns, rollouts bootlegs giving him any easy option to throw to high % routes or tuck it and run, also would have tried to get the ball to the RB's in space, less run up the middle more quick screens and dump offs. probably would not have worked but if are only picking up 1 and 2 yards on first and second down right up the gut runs try something different. As far as defense goes i have no clue??? My thinking was if Paul Rhodes could contain White Devine Slaton and Reynaud last year with Pitt surely he could handle only White and Devine this year with Auburn. Obviously I was wrong

i have never seen worse half time adjustments out of an SEC team in the 15 yrs i have seriously been following them. square peg round hole. paul rhodes outcoached up and down the field. qb sneak on every third down play Auburn can you get more predictable??

Auburn would have beaten USF last year if not for 3 or 4 fumbles on their side of the field. not saying USF is bad just saying AU gave the game to them even though it did go into ot

kane always love checking your posts, but why such a low grade for Marks? you have Tate & Lester around a B yet Marks one of the best players on AU is C+. just curious to your reasoning there

Moss - yeah I am kind of worried about Tenn but this could be a career saver for fulmer so i'll just hope he pulls his head far enough out of his ass to stay close in this one though

4. GA @ (-2) LSU
Man I would love to be in Baton Rouge for this one. Both teams have great RB in Moreno and Scott who will both see a ton of action in this game. One thing that plays a big part in my handicapping of games is O line & D line b/c as you all know if you control the line of scrimage you control the game. Well GA lost another O lineman last week, the 4th offensive gaurd to go down for them this year. Its hard to control the line of scrimage when your offensive line is full of freshman, injuries and guys playing position they aren't comfortable with b/c of the previous two reasons. Apart from their offensive line woes GA does have some of the most dynamic skill players in the game Moreno, Stafford, & Green. But in a game where your opponent has one of the best D lines in college football your skill players are not much help if you can't get the ball in their hands. LSU is a lot like Alabama imo in that that run the ball right at you until you stop them. GA could not stop AL from running down their throats and they will not be able to stop LSU from doing the same. Although LSU does not have much experience at QB he can hand the ball off and run play action effectively which is all they need to do to win. GA has the ability to make big plays on offense especially with LSU's suspect secondary, but they will have to happen fast b/c Stafford won't have time to grill hamburgers back there by any means. I'll take the Hat at home giving 2
27-17 LSU

Alabama @ (+6.5) Tenn Starting things off this is a huge rivalry game...both the teams will come to play, Neyland stadium will be packed to the brink and it will hardnosed football from stop to finish. Both teams have really good defenses Bama ranked 16th and Tenn 11th in total yards allowed/game. Both teams would rather run than pass, and both teams have a tendency to fumble the football quite a bit. Tenn is going to have to establish the run which will be considerably easier thing to do now that Bama's nose tackle Mt. Cody is out for two weeks. With him out last week against AL surrender 208 yds in last quarter and 1/2 of the game, compared to roughly 150 the first 2 1/2 quarters. Tenn will also rely on Stevens to keep the ball safe something he has been very good at the past 3 games. There is also talk of getting Eric Berry the ball on offense during this game as well. He has 5 int's this year and avg 35 yds on the int returns. I realize Alabama has played well on the road (@ Georgia & played Clemson in atl) but there is a big difference in being the under dog or the favorite. This game is going to come down to defense and who protects the ball. I like Tenn defense at home against a somewhat one dimensional tide offense, along with the Tide's second half struggles I'll take 6.5 and hope the line keeps going up. 20 to 17 Bama |

Ok guys big SEC fan here usually watch at least 3/4 of the games each week.
1. Auburn (+3) @ West Virginia
Keys to the game: Auburn's defense against Pat White & Noel Devine. Its no secret Auburn has always prided itself on a fast salty defense and this year is no different. AU is allowing a meager 107 rushing yds/g & 165 yds/g through the air. Granted Arkansas just ripped them for 188 on the ground and 228 through the air, but that was w/o their #1 CB Jerraud Powers, #1 DT Sendarick Marks (all SEC candidate), & DE Michael Goggins all of these guys will be back this week after a much needed bye week. Also back in the lineup is RB Brad Lester, RB/KR Tristian Davis, WR/PR Rod Smith. Auburn has also come out and said it will be a lot more downhill I formation running this week, something they used to do pretty well. If your offensive line is having trouble blocking the number 1 thing to do is let them blow up off the ball...just plow the guy in front of you it is as simple as it gets. WV is only avg 342 yds of offense/game even with almost 500 against Marshall, also they only managed 260 against the powerhouse known as Syracuse. Last but not least I will take Tuberville with a week and a half to prepare over Stewart any day.
Score 21 17 Auburn
2. Arkansas @ (-5) Ole Miss
Houston Nutt's first game against his rival, should be a good one. If it were any other coach I might be thinking Ole Miss will have a let down week against a bad, but improving Arkansas team. But this is is Houston Nutt's team, he is a great motivator and gets the best out of his players most of the time. Down 24 to 3 at half to a pretty good Bama team and they come out and put up 17 unanswered pts (would have been more if not for a failed 4th down attempt inside the Bama's 20) they put up over 150 yds on the ground against one of the top rushing defenses in the country, and over 200 through the air. You can bet that Nutt will have his team up and ready to play against his former team this saturday. Also if Ole Miss can achieve the same kind of pressure they got against Bama's QB (2 sacks and several hurries) Casey Dick will throw more completions to Ole Miss's defense than to his WRs. As far as the emergence of Arkansas RB Michael Smith, if Ole Miss can stand up to Bama's vaulted run game they can handle Smith out of the backfield. After pissing away the Kentucky game last week there's no way this team is hyped up to play Ole Miss this weekend. Big plays are just waiting to happen in this game with Mcluster, Shay and Snead hooking up early and often.
31 17 Ole Miss
Back later with Tenn write up
