@Zeus4par It’s obviously Thomas and Alito will side with the president. They are hopeless. I think Kavanaugh will, too, but Barrett seems to be on the no-immunity side for now. I have to believe that Roberts will be, too, although I missed any questions he posed, if any. So, my guess is 5-4 that Trump is not immune. I can’t think of any Democratic president in my lifetime who would have ever considering taking advantage of absolute immunity (or any Republican except Trump, and possibly Nixon in the right circumstances). I’m so happy that when Trump came pandered the democrats for backing, They shunned him ! |

@kcblitzkrieg Oh horse shit ! Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong! its unbelievable that Supreme Court justices who see forgiving student loans, mandating vaccines, and regulating climate change as a slippery slope toward tyranny were not clear-eyed on questions of whether a president could execute citizens or stage a coup without being prosecuted! There is one word to describe there logic CORRUPTION! |

I just heard a clip on Fox of Trump arguing that immunity is necessary for any future hypothetical president, or else they’d just be a figurehead, unable to take any necessary risks. The obvious counter-argument is, of course: why has this never been a problem for any of the previous 44 presidents in the last 235 years? I have to hand it to Trump he has exposed by his own doing how far up corruption go’s….To the highest Judges in the land !

I’m convinced that two, possibly three, of the justices have been doing more homework for this case than they ever have before, searching every text possible for a precedent or philosophy they can write into the record ! Personally I feel the fix has been in since day one for Alito and Thomas, with Gorsich as a maybe. Jmho ….Thomases wife would be very happy if so! |

In the digression in so many other other thread, I’ve noticed most of our MAGA posters insinuate with great harmony that Trump is either quite intelligent or at least of average intelligence. While it can be hard to tease out an estimate of intelligence from a psychopathic personality like Trump, in this case I think it can be done by examining his written and oral communication, of which there is a lot. Seriously, just look at the way he talks and writes. He has the vocabulary and sentence structure of an eight-year-old, and not a very bright one, either. His unscripted communication is mindlessly repetitive and not only lacking in reasoned logic but sometimes completely incoherent. He substitutes repetition for reason. His opponents are characterized in terms of schoolyard insults that most kids would outgrow by about the age of twelve. And his written communication, with its random capitalization and occasional veering into all-caps, verges on illiteracy. These are not the bloviations of an intelligent person. They would be a total embarrassment to anyone of even average intelligence. A good counterexample is another hate-filled criminal who is actually quite intelligent, Conrad Black. When the man wants to insult someone, it’s an art form – practically lyrical! Ordinary people couldn’t even come close, let alone someone like Trump who can barely speak! But he does one thing well he cunningly has the ability connect with his supporters by appealing to there desires and prejudices rather than by using rational arguments. If anyone has forgotten Trump gave this despicable man “ Conrad Black “ a full pardon! |

@soup-can person and Arab Muslims conflicting claims to the land date back a couple thousand years, possibly longest feud in the history of mankind. They sign agreements and before the sun sets it begins to disappear. It is beyond me how anyone can fail to see that there is ample blame to go around.

In the area I live there is a good size Jewish population, with many congregations and community centers. Some hardcore Hasidic, and they just keep on their own Come on now that’s not really true ! Just look to there areas that this group this of extremely religious Jewish people have decided to set shop and reside in , Be it Kiryas Joel ,upstate NY , Williamsburg Ny Jackson Nj or Houston Tx and the you will see the complaint of antisemitism ! With a closer look you will see that in a short period of time these become drastically changed in many area with the use the use the RLUIPA act. This acts guild lines that have been moved far and away though politically from there original intentions have created tremendous discontent with non Hasidic citizens. You will find that to even vote no to a girls Hasidic high school will possibly 300 to 500 student on a acre of land and septic system for 10% of that number is looked at as antisemitic behavior. I can assure you the Non Hasidic folks of these communities are sick and tired of the victim card that is use in every occasion…..At least until they as the American Indian did and grudgingly move away from there home town. |

@witswits On the contrary, Most Republican politicians vote strategically. They have “good governance” to consider and they have their next election to consider. It’s obvious the ones who have been successful before the 2016 election would be extremely happy if Trump plane landed nose first into sewerage facility and no longer be held politically captive by a buffoon and not have to explain his ever day live TV humiliation. So till they a free they know that when the legislation will pass, regardless of which direction you vote, but your district is more extremely MAGA, then maybe you rather your next primary. If you compare Republican senators who are running for reelection this year, to ones who aren’t, and the vote spread between those two groups for foreign aid - that will probably give you a better sense for how much re-election is playing into their choice.

That’s how it’s done ? Let’s see here Joe says his father crashed on a island known to have natives that practice cannibalism and you added he was eaten by them ! Hunter Biden’s laptop is lost or forgotten and ends up being sold or donated it to political enemies of Joe Biden who say the President did illegal business deals with foreign country….But Joe is not anywhere in the laptop …After huge cat & dog show they have not a ounce of proof of it! ……Do you guys always make up or add fiction to stories regardless to the truth to fit your needs? …..I find that facts are less embarrassing! When Trump was quoting Robert E Lee the other day you all should heeded him “ Don’t fight up hill me boys “ ! |

Former North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn hasn’t spoken publicly about allegations that he was involved in a car crash with a state trooper………Who, in their right mind, tailgates a cop? As we all know Republicans apparently believe the right lane is made for them ….Get out of my way peonies! https://www.bpr.org/bpr-news/2024-04-16/ex-congressman-madison-cawthorn-reportedly-in-car-wreck-with-florida-state-trooper |

Just out of curiosity, I googled the age at which father Fred started to show signs of dementia, just to get an idea what kind of timeline might be in store for the son. Now, to get all disclaimery, a parent having Alzheimer’s is a possible indicator of increased likelihood of a child getting it, but is by no means a certainty. So the following is all purely speculative, but this thread is speculative so here goes… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Trump#Wealth_and_death In October 1991, Fred Trump would have just turned 85, less than 8 years older than donald is now. But Fred probably showed significant signs of mental impairment for quite some time before the official diagnosis. The kind of mental issues that would be less than ideal in a sitting President. And donald trump loathes exercise, is obese, and certainly does not challenge himself cognitively, so if dementia is in store for him, he’s not doing anything to stave it off quite the opposite, his bad health habits would be prone to possibly accelerate oncoming dementia. In fact, in the article below, more than half of the 10 factors linked to increased risk of Alzheimer’s probably apply to trump, and ‘heredity isn’t even one of the 10 https://theconversation.com/the-ten-factors-linked-to-increased-risk-of-alzheimers-disease-143122

What I find priceless and have very much enjoyed watching the recent Biden cracks at Trump, the “very successful businessman” losing over 2/3 of his new media empire’s value in weeks.
