Boston -2.5 and I"M ALL OVER IT! This is my fav bet on this game. BOSTON ALWAYS comes out strong 1stQ against Clev in Boston. 25-15 last game, and 25-16 the game prior. Gotta like it and run with it!

I don't see how you don't take the Cavs and the 8 points here even though everyone else is doin' it. Sometimes the betting public is right. Last night's Lakers and Pistons faders will tell you that.
While the disappearance of Ray Allen = 0 pts and Paul Pierce = 4 pts is sure to change so will LeBron James at (2 of 18) for only 12 points, and a whopping 10 turnovers. TEN!
You could argue that when the Big 3 all show up for Boston it's gonna' be a different story but you take another look at those Game One stats. and you'll see that the Cleveland D showed up as well as the Celtic D and doubled them in steals and blocked shots, and held them to just 42% from the field.
I think it's because the Cavs. have a big team physically and like Ridah said they aren't afraid of the Celts.
Cleveland just plays ugly and keeps it close. They only shot 30% from the field, Lebron was non-existent (even detrimental with those 10 turnovers) and they were still right in there until the end.
And let's not forget, this team won the East last season so they've been here.
I think those ATS stats. Shutup posted favoring the Cavs. are pretty damn relevant.
You have to throw their overall record out and see the heavy Celtics favoritism from the books as a reaction of the way they think the general public sees them, and go ahead and bet based on the game you saw the other night.
Take the Cavs. and take those points.
And if you've got some spare change you might even put a little something on that Cav. money line since the price is nice, but I do think the Celts will probably find a way to get the win.
I'm a little more nervous about the over/under because I think there's some creedence to what CMJohnson said about all of those guys remembering how to score again.
And on a lighter note - how bout that Sam Cassel = 13 pts? Damn. You gotta' love that guy. It is the playoffs isn't it? Guy's
been playing ball for so long he's like Robert Horry, mostly bored
until a big game comes along and then look out.

Well, the public certainly has been winning a lot in the past few days or so, not sure whats happening..I havent seen the books lose this much in a long time..I have a feeling theyre setting up something much bigger coming up in future series' Well I expect the books to get back on track tonight

If Lebron scores 30 like he should have, Pierce and Allen combine for 37 like they should have, theres your cover. Players were non existant on both sides of the ball not just the King. Celts-8.5 Over 177

Le Bron won't score 30 IMO. I would take Le Bron under 30 points today. He scored only 12 in the 1st game. How can he suddenly so fast score 30? he is not a superman like Dwight Howard!

Garnet said it best....game 1 was like two heavyweights throwing body blows in the center of the ring for 12 rounds and no one gave an inch. I really cant stand to watch Eastern Conference basketball, its all knock down drag out defense and POORLY played offense. The debate has been on since game 1, was this great defense or was this bad offense? This was straight up bad offense, Lebron had 10 turnovers and missed several shots right at the rim down the stretch.
On a brighter note the oddsmakers have again given us a gift wrapped present here.....how can anyone say that Cleveland doesnt keep this within 9 points for the game? Make your arguements anywhich way but to me its going to be the same type of game as game 1 but Cleveland may actually pull out the win this time.

after the killing I made yesterday (perfect 4-0, plus parlays), I'm really inclined to tread lightly today so I don't go screwing it all away. I think this series will be very defensive ala CLE/DET last year... in that series there were a ton of games with scores in the 80s and even some 70s... by that vein, I really have to think that the under is a great play, both 1st half and game as I think that this series will shake down just like a cleveland detroit series as boston has looked very susceptible in the playoffs... by that same note, i've got to take the +8 until boston can match the playoff experience of LeBron and the core that has been there with him the last couple years... Z, Booby gibson, andy varejao, and lebron, not to mention ben wallace has a good chunk of playoff experience with detroit and some chicago. KG has a little xperience here and he will probably be the MVP of the series if boston holds on in my opinion as i expect him to step up in light of how poor they looked offensively.
CLE +9 Un 178 1st half Un 88.5
and I'm going to follow in the footsteps of rekamyenom, aka the 1Q wizard, and throw down on boston to jump ahead early, parlaying the momentum from a win that they shouldn't have had in game 1. I think they will come out quick and try to establish pace, but LBJ is a late game guy, so after that 1Q, I think he'll help the squad pull back into it.

1) why do people like the over? this series looks like it will be lucky to get over the total even once... what are people thinking here?
2) why do people like Cleveland? they just blew a golden opportunity to steal one, and now they have given Boston more confidence and some momentum... nothing about this game points to Cleveland...

except for the fact that the best player in the eastern conference was personally responsible for that loss and him having a good game in the second game could match any extra heat that boston can bring in this game... one thing i've learned betting cavs games is NEVER doubt what LeBron can do. 8pts is a lot and only with lebron out of the lineup has boston ever beat cleveland by more than 7 this year... come on now. Boston looked sexy during the year, but you have to admit that they have been VERY rough during the playoffs, so I'm not about to assume that they can do something here that they couldn't do during the regular season. The cavs are actually a pretty strong playoff team.
I agree with you on your thoughts on the O/U though... I will pound that until it misses and then pound it once more for good measure (except for when they go to cleveland)
