We are being attacked because a Jewish imbecile film maker enjoys poking a hornets nest
No we're not. It is because Obama is ineffective & weak.
Also note:
But two Libyan officials, including the commander of a security force which escorted the U.S. rescuers, said a later assault on a supposedly safe refuge for the diplomats appeared professionally executed.
This wasn't some mob and it was not some reaction to a movie.

Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
Michelle Obama:
“He reads every word, every memo, so he is better prepared than the people briefing him,” she said. “This man doesn’t take a day off.”
This guy is a clown. We have a President who is an actual clown.

DJ but....would not ROMNEY command more HATE(ie Fear and respect) within the Middle East where these animals would be less inclined to carry out such cowardly acts in fear of reprisal
Like somebody stated earlier, talk softly and carry a big stick
Facts are OBAMA is out campaigning vigorishly for his reelction while failing to perform his duties as current POTUS. I am sure any intelligent American can/will/does see what a screwed up set of priorities BOH actually has which will further damage his reelection chances

One has to wonder if a leader of the ilk of pope Urban II was with us, along with the fortitude and bravery of our ancestral crusaders, would this shit be happening.

Al-Masry Al-Youm reportedly obtained a copy of the September 4 letter, sent to all Egyptian security sectors, warning that Sinai- and Gaza-based Global Jihad cells were planning attacks on the two embassies.
Please, please, go on that this was some spontaneous mob reaction to a movie.

Would Romney have backed Mubarak, Gadaffi and Assad (Syria)?
This would have ensured status quo in the region and from an American point of view probably the right decision - but political suicide, I guess.
Now we have the Arab Spring - and nobody knows what happens next - you just don't go from dictatorship to a true democracy - hell, Russia isn't even a democracy in my book...they were for a short period during Jeltsin.
I know I should be supporting the "freedom fighters" in Syria - but I can't help being disgusted every time they shout "Allah uh akbar". Assad is a dictator - but at least he's not a religious one.

RJ, that is a great question. I honestly don't know the answer. This is where the Reagan/Haig Doctrines fork from the Bush/Bolton ones.
Reagan/Haig would have supported keeping the governments that were in our interest, regardless of alleged actions. Bush/Bolton would have supported the removal in favor of democracies (read Bolton's essays on the Middle East for evidence of this).
Romney does have Bolton as a foreign policy advisor, but it is unclear what he would have followed here.
Obama clearly is more along the lines of the Bush/Bolton, although obviously without overt action.
Everyone that has read anything about my Middle East feelings knows this is a no-brainer to me. It is impossible for these religious theocracies to have long term democracies.

What is succesful in one market, country, family, or any other assembly of mankind, doesn't guarantee the similar outcomes/results , if even, experimented , in a totally different set of variables within any different groups of people.
The fact that people migrated to the NEW WORLD in search for their individual freedom IS still one of the greatest accomplishments ever
Other cultures will NEVER feel, see, or experience what US Americans take for granted everyday We sit around using our advanced technology, comfort controlled cribs, and big screens, enjoying personal freedoms that are the envy of the world Why should we "suggest" to other countries/nations how to create that kind of society
Like DJ states above, IMPOSSIBLE Those folks need to figure it out on their own like, very fortunately, our Founding Fathers did using history and intellectuals of the day to organize themselves as civilized people. They congregated, debated, wrote and ratified a document that at one time, outlined the liberties that the citizens enjoyed, Until, BOH

14road, you just made one of the stupidest follow up posts of the year....... We need a covers psychiatrist for you to deal with your delusional thought process.

Perhaps you can explain why the President of Libya says the killings there were not spontaneous but were long premeditated and the nutty movie was only a smokescreen.
Perhaps you can explain how a "spontaneous" mob gets their hands on those types of weapons.

IF and only IF the report is accurate, the most probable perpetrator was elements of
Qudaffi's holdouts, looking to embarrass and destabilize the new Libyan
government. If so, it's not a good sign
But that has 0 to do with Obama being ineffective and weak you delusional fuck..
Inferences and speculation are your strong suit not facts..
Sarkozy and Obama made a stand and told the world that they would not
allow Gaddhafi to destroy Benghazi. Half a million lives were the
estimated casualties if Gaddhafi's tanks and troops made it to the city.
The same Benghazi citizens who killed this ambassador very possibly
would have been killed last year had there been no intervention.
