Wallstreetcappers is right that Canadians should have a better perspective on US healthcare reforms because they are unaffected but experienced consequences of reforms for decades. Don't trust special interest groups or Americans who have the most to gain or lose.

Um, considering everything he typed was abjectly false, I'd say his perspective is not "better"
Nor is it informed.
um, what was false in the reply? please provide specifics and facts for this claim.
Your reply was that he is unaffected by the law, which is both right and wrong. He is not a citizen, that is right but they have taken healthcare to more of an extreme than we have and their taxes are higher..so you are quite incorrect that his perspective is not better.
How is the new law we have different or worse than what they have now? If anything they have even more of what you consider a negative?

Claim:
"This is a great law"
False. It is so 'great' that the authors didn't even know what it contained.
Claim:
"finally a step in insuring that all citizens can get the healthcare they need"
False. The CBO estimates that 20 million American workers are going to lose their employer sponsored health care plans.
Further, the law is raising health care premiums faster than they would have increased otherwise.
Further, the law is increasing federal health care spending higher than estimated.
Finally, it is beyond comical that you of all people would ask me for facts.

So an opinion that he has is false..how do you conclude with fact that his view about the law is right or wrong?
Second claim, how do you know that the net result will not be what his OPINION is on the gain or loss of healthcare coverage?
It sounds like your facts are also opinion, so maybe you should keep the negative opinions to yourself since you are so quick to bash others when they state opinions not backed with fact?
Your furthers are 100% pure speculation..nothing has been done yet, there are no conclusions to be made.
You failed to provide FACTS again, you cannot provide facts there are none to provide. If you state some ESTIMATE, that is not a fact, if you state an opinion of some other person, that is not fact.

My "furthers" are confirmed by more than 50 years of examples of government failing to do what it sets out to do.
To believe Obamacare is going to work as promised (note Obama already lied when he said you'd save $2,500 in premiums) you'd have to believe that the Department of Education has helped American students.

I am not the one throwing around insults and bashing people, you are.
How can you prove with FACT that the increase of premiums are correlated to legislation that is not in existence yet?
You cannot..
The fact that premiums are up (which is true) has much more to do with costs and litigation than if Obama's initiative has passed and is implemented.
Your furthers are not confirmed by any facts, you are CORRELATING federal government inefficiencies and making a generalized opinion off other events..that is not fact.
You cannot have a fact without data, so I will ask you again..what can you prove with FACT when there is nothing which has occurred yet?
I suggest you steer clear of bashing others opinions when yours are just the same..opinion.

Really?
In an Oct. 25 email, Jennifer Hodges, the AARP’s director of compensation and benefits said, “Plan value changes were necessary not only from a cost management standpoint but also to ensure that AARP’s plans fall below the threshold for high-cost group plans under health care reform.”

Nothing's been done yet?
Examples of somethings that have already taken place because of Obamacare.

I suggest you read up on the actual law & regulations.

I have provided the data.
You realize people have actually said they're raising premiums because of Obamacare right? Or are you going to tell those people running Health insurance plans they don't know what they're talking about?

You are confusing your posts with mine.
For example: What would this guy know about the topic, right?
What would these people know about the topic?
Note the portions of the law already in effect:
New provisions mandated by federal law to start Thursday include allowing young adults to stay on their parents' plan until they turn 26, eliminating annual and lifetime limits on the amount of money an insurer spends per customer and mandating that insurers cover the full cost of preventive services, such as mammograms and colonoscopies.

Are you suggesting that previous to 2008 there was no healthcare inflation?
Of course that is untrue..I can prove my assertion with fact and data..we have experienced higher healthcare inflation vs CPI for a very long period of time, well before Obama was ever in politics.
The "facts" you state are conclusions drawn from those parties in expectation of a future event.
The topic of this thread has to do with the current events of the Supreme Court...the scope of the initiative is not in full force and implemented to the degree you are suggesting.

Once we hit 2014, Members of Congress and their staff will be shopping in the same state based health care exchanges that many average Americans will be checking out for the best deals and plans available.
Starting in 2013, an extra 0.9% Medicare tax will be charged on payroll.
Another batch of people who earn more but still have low incomes will get tax credits to offset their insurance costs. Consumers will be able to comparison shop for policies in newly created exchanges that will operate like popular online travel websites.
Insurance companies will have to sell coverage to everyone, regardless of their medical history, and will have to restrict how much they vary premiums based on age.
Companies with 50 workers or more will be required to offer insurance to their workers or pay a penalty.
What will happen to my insurance premiums?
A: Most consumers can expect to keep seeing increases in premiums and co-payments because the underlying cost of health care is expected to rise. The law contains a few mechanisms to curb premiums, but it also requires that many insurance providers make their benefits more generous, which will raise their cost. Older people could see their premiums go down because of the new age rating rules insurers will face. People who buy policies without the help of an employer could get a better deal by being able to shop on the exchanges, where comparing plans will be easier than before.
I agree with the change as it affects all not just a few.......
