To those that are upset because my argument is one-sided, that was intentional...to get people to see the flaws the Jets have. Its obvious many Jets homers have been upset by this thread.
Look at the numbers I posted. They don't lie. People have been blinded by two playoff wins.
and to compare their D to the 85 Bears or 00 Ravens is LAUGHABLE. Could they be great? Sure. They have a long way to go to get there.
I don't see this team winning more than 9 games. Feel free to bump this thread if you'd like. Could I be wrong? Yup. I'm not drinking the kool aid.

what Revis did last year, few if any have done. That is talent above and beyond most NFLers. Put him up there with the great great CB's.
He is the key, to have a total shutdown CB, opens up so many things for you in defense.
If he stays healthy, no reason this O-Line and D cannot do it again. Remember, they finished quite strong and surprised everyone. Had Manning on the ropes for a half.

2444 yards = 152 yards per game
12 TDs = 0.75 TD’s per game
20 INT’s = 1.25 INT’s per game
Does an average game of 152 yards per game less than a TD an more than 1 INT seem like a typical game you want from a super bowl winning quarterback? You want to rely on this guy when he has to make a big play in a big game to get the W for his team? Not me thanks.
Furthermore, when we dissect Sanchez’s games he did not win one game for them, but looking back, he sure did lose at least 5 games for them. The numbers don’t lie here. You are seriously expecting Mark Sanchez to win against a great coached defense in the playoffs? If you are, I have a bridge for sale you can buy. Granted Sanchez is bound to show at least marginal improvement, but he is not nearly ready for prime time. Which leads us to our final point…the schedule..
Great Insight on the young overrated QB however your numbers are a little off. He did only play 15 games in the 16 game schedule
2444/15 = 163 YDS/game
12 TD's/15 = 0.8 TD's game
20 INT/15 = 1.33 INT/game
none the less still terrible numbers for any QB except Jamarcus Russell, he would kill for those stats

LOL at they guy with a NYJ aviator calling another biased and extremely one-sided. I don't necessarily agree with BigNiner but he has made some interesting points. You on the other hand contributed nothing.
Hell pot stop calling the kettle black!

Fading the Jets this year has now become the public play.
With everyone and his dog now yapping about how they are overhyped and won't win jack, I am starting to really like their chances now!!!

i guess i should bring my revis comments over here with all the jets fans.
please turn off espn. revis is not the best corner in the league. he may be the best one day, but he's not now, despite what you may see on various 10 second highlights on sportscenter.
also, revis will be playing this year and he'll have another great season. this holdout is just posturing like every other holdout every preseason.
and i agree with one of the other posters. the jets are shaping up to be overvalued quite often this season, although i do think they'll be either good or very good this season. but remember, being good and being a good bet are not necessarily the same thing in the nfl any given week.

Fans do not belong here on a sports betting forum, I dont need to hear opinions on games from biased one sided blind douchebags who fly there colors and wear there hearts on their sleeves.
this in Bobby Smiths own words
Straight up man has no business in ATS mans world but likes to rear his ugly head from time to time.

If anyone above thinks that picking up LT is an improvement over Thomas Jones is completely insane. Losing Jones and Faneca could prove to be huge. We will see how Greene holds up for the whole year as an every down back because I wouldn't count on LT for anything.

When compared with league the average, the Jets defense was 30% better than the league average in total yards given up.
That ranks no.1 of all defenses since 2000 including the Ravens.
Average gain per pass the Jets defense ranked no.2 of all defenses since 2000, behind only 2008 Pitt, the eventual SB Champs.
There's just no denying the Jets have a great defense by any measure you want to make.
Footballoutsiders who track every play of every game ranks the Jets defense no.1 last year and the 4th best defense since 1993, the first year of their metrics.
They said Revis lead the league in adjusted yards per catch and success rate.
They said Revis had a season for the ages last season and even if he declines by 10% this season he would still be the best corner in football.
They also pointed out the Jets were just 14th in sack rate but 3rd in hurries and history tells them that teams like this dramatically improve their sack rate the next season
The facts paint a pretty impressive picture of the Jets defense.

Big Niner, always nice to see someone who can actually write. You make some good points. Myself, I do believe Sanchez will be better. He has the potential, and let's face it, being a rookie QB in the NFL may be the most difficult position/task in all of sports, and in NY no less.
While I won't put the Jets "D" in the same class as the Bears and Ravens from years past, they are good, make no mistake. That will keep them in games. Being swept last year by the Dolphins (my team) was a bit of an anomaly. The Fins' have had more than their share of struggles against the Jets historically.
So many variables come into play every season that it's hard for me to put much stock into a new year based on the previous year. Let's not forget the NFC South, where finishing last once meant winning the division the next year. Free agents, rookies, injuries, make team chemistry a bit unpredictable. That's why my bets are more conservative early on.
Yes, perhaps there is a little too much hype going into the season, especially with a still very dangerous NE team sitting back, enjoying the view from the underdog chair. That alone should be enough to concern even the most ardent Jets fan.
