he is always "the final peice" yet he has only won it all once despite being there several times. if he is the talent work horse leader that everyone claims he is how comes his teams always come up short?

But he can play :) I'd want a warrior on my team. It's kinda like any sports. You gotta play a bit dirty. :)

really that is the comparision you are going to try and make, come on Pronger has played in just over 1300 games (playoff and regular season) and has 178 goals and 602 assists totaling 780 points. Bourque has played just over 1800 games and has 451 goals and 1,298 assits. The numbers aren't even remotely comparable. Also should I mention Bourque's 4 Norris Trophy's to Pronger's 1.

Since WHEN did hockey become an individual sport?
Keep sipping that Molson and watch the guy play... there's a reason that every team would want him and it's just nuts like you that don't see that because of your personal haterade towards him. He's been great no matter what team he's been on.
I bet in secret you'ld piss your pants for joy if he signed with your favorite team.
You're the kinda nut that probably would say Bobby Orr was a box cause his knees were sore.
i do watch him play and if he wasn't allowed to clutch and grab you would be watching guys with speed skates circles around him. what happened in the olympics when he didn't have preferential treatment from the refs? He was a non-factor.
He is a big hulking defenseman with no foot speed and no skating ability. Everyone admires those long passes he makes, why is that? Because he has to make those passes can he sure can not skate it up on his own.

shows what is truly is and always has been, a bum
think about it if he is so great how has he been in the league this long and only won the cup once. one of the most overated guys in the NHL period. Cheap, dirty, classless and a . Can you imagine what would happen to Ovechikin or Crosby if they acted like this buffoon.
how is he a bum, he plays 30 minutes a game, he shuts down the other teams best player round after round game after game, he's made Toews look aweful. buffy who everyone couldn't stop talking about, well Pronger is man handling him in front of the net,
Pronger is one of the best all time stay home defenceman, and he can chip in also on the offensive end with that boomer of a shot and his long stretch passing.
a bum lol you crack me up, maybe watch the game and watch him shut down Toews, kane and anyone else he has to play against.
yeah he's won one cup and has been there a few times, so because hes played along time and only has one cup makes him a bum and overrated, give me a break, im sure you could find many star players that played along time that has no cups at all.
Ray bourque must of been a bum too then eh. he played longer then pronger and had to be a rent a player to win his only cup.
and if you asked 100 nhl players who is the toughest player to play against, id bet 80 of them would say pronger.
oh and for pronger taking the pucks, who really cares, its a puck, and he will give them back when its over, its happened many many times in the past, its all mind games, an it sometimes throws the other team off a bit.

its not about points moron, ray bourque was great offencively but to me was a liability in his own end, if i had a pick between Pronger in his prime and Bourque in his, id take pronger cause he can do it all, you wouldnt see Bourque out there shutting down the other teams best players, thats a hard thing to do and Pronger can do it all.

Pronger isn't in Bourque's league.
Pronger isn't in Bourque's league.
Pronger isn't in Bourque's league.
depends on how you look at it, if your saying scoring points then your right, but if you say taking care of your own end then Pronger is much better at that then Bourque ever was. and for a defenceman taking care of your own end is far more important then scoring points. and Bourque was a liability in his own end.

Totally agree, although that will be construed as Flyer hatred.

Bourque was obviously more on the offensive for a defenseman. I wouldn't say he was a liability though.

agree to disagree, sorry man but i don't see bourque and pronger in the same league.

isn't that my point exactly, good enough to get them there but not good enough to win it. One could even argue that the only cup he won he was riding shotgun to Neidemeyer
