Hook... I remember one of my first trips to Maui... I woke up at 8am (hungover of course) and had left the TV on in the living room of our apartment rental. When I walked into the room... Mark Mcguire was rounding the bases after hitting a big HR. It was the year that he and Sousa went H2H for the single season HR record.
Anyway... I thought it was just Sportcenter on ESPN... but it was LIVE TV.
It was nutz because I felt like I was not only hungover but also in the Twilight Zone.
Since then I've learned to love the early starts when we go to Hawaii. Football starts at 7am on Sunday... so by 1pm you still have an entire day to have fun in Paradise. And those 9am East Coast college football games start at 6am in Hawaii... Personally I love being there during Football season... Wake up to Action or stay up all night till it's over.
Imagine... The NFL Network's "First On The Field" on Sundays starts at 4am here in California... That would be 1am in Hawaii...
The only thing I didn't like was that MNF was on tape delay. That sucks if you want to enjoy the game because you always know that somehow you will learn the results before gametime on TV... and you can forget LIVE betting on it unless you listen to the game on the radio.
I miss Hawaii...
