I always thought hockey rules were the same as baskets in this regard. So what matters is when it last was touched/shot - not when it crosses the goal line...not true?

All these years I've been watching and thinking the rules was the same as baskets. Wager aside they should change that. If someone takes a shot before the buzzer it should count if it goes in. jmo

That Twitter link clearly shows the puck going in AFTER the clock hits 0.0. It definitely was close thats for sure. But people have to remember the tv ticker isn't the official clock.

Hockey rules have always been like that. The problem with your way is 1) Too many shots go in after they hit someone or deflect off the goalie. This rule makes it clear and transparent.

I don't think it fixed or rigged......With advanced technology etc...and the way they review replays etc...Everything is synched up with the clock and camera on the net.
