Thats what My Lions fans cousins were saying when the Lions drafted Farely
Suh and Farlely on the same D-Line, look out QBs
didnt quite work out that well did it?
I don't think that comparing Cameron Wake and Farlely is fair at all. One is a future hall of famer. Also, Vernon has 134 tackles, and 21.5 sacks in 3 years (He played almost all his rookie year only on special teams). In 4 years, Fairley has 98 tackles and 13.5 sacks. I think its easy to tell which of those 2 players is better.
It looks like the reason the Lions Dline wasn't as dominant as expected had everything to do with Fairley. That has zero affect on the Dolphins, and their potential to have the best dline in football.

And you're just forgetting the best def player in the league (Watt), wow. I cant give credit for your further posts.
Sorry I wrote this post 5 minutes after I found out they got Suh. My mind was racing and I named those players off the top of my head. Believe me when I tell you though, you not giving me credit for further posts will keep me up at night for weeks.

Nothing about this signing indicates it will be like Haynesworth. Character concerns? Get real. They don't exist unless you're talking g about what the media created. Please post a link to a source that indicates character concern or a divide created by sun. None exist. But lets make an assumption the guy could care less about winning despite all facts pointing to the contrary. Hw many games has he missed? Better yet how many practices has he missed? What about taking plays off? The improvements he has shown on the field? Its posh because it isnt what i think i might or should believe. Detroit screwed up. Players of this caliber shouldn't sniff free agency.

Its simply a lazy comparison by people that are either fans of another AFC East team, or people mad/jealous their favorite team did not sign him. Suh is the biggest DT beast in the league, and I'm sure its a HUGE coincidence that Detroit had the best run defense in the league.
Lions finished #1 in rushing yards, and yards per rush. Dolphins finished 24th, and 21st in those categories. Among DT's since 2010, Suh finishes #1 in snaps, sacks, disrupted dropbacks, and #3 in tackles. Suh had 8.5 sacks last year and 10.5 disrupted dropbacks. Starks, Earl Mitchell and Oderick (Miami's DTs) all combined for 7.5 sacks and 14.5 disrupted dropbacks.
Did I mention all of those stats by SUH were done without Cameron Wake, who had 11.5 sacks last year and 50 sacks over the last 5 years. Those 2 guys will be lining up next to eachother on the defensive line. GOODLUCK WITH THAT

wake i've never said you shouldn't be excited about Suh. Nor have i said you shouln't go out a buy a Suh jersey. You are a better team with Suh than without him. I have to hear all my Lions family and friends tell me that now with Suh gone they will be 2-14. he wasn't as important as media types want you to believe
I will go on record right now and i'm the biggest Packers fan on earth. If the Lions get 1-2 legit Cb's whether its in the draft,FA or trade i will pick them to win Super Bowl 50. The need as been CB for years and Mayhew for whatever reason won't draft 1 high

I think you are severely underestimating the importance of Suh. As I said before Detroit ranked #1 in rushing defense and yards per carry. That was the best part of their team, their run defense. I would put a lot of money they don't even finish in top 10 in run defense this year. Miami's run defense was very solid 2 years ago, and even losing an above average guy like Paul Solai made them fall off the map. Couldn't imagine how much a teams run defense will fall off losing the best DT in football.
If they had Suh and got some quality CBs then I would agree they would have a chance to make a run. Without him they will be a 9-10 win team max and most likely a first round playoff exit if they make it.

I disagree. You have an opinion and so do I. Everyone has an opinion and a lot of them are subjective. Stats are not subjective. Since he came into the league in 2010.
#1 in Snaps
#1 sacks
#1 in QB disrupts
#3 in tackles.
All while being double teamed and making his teammates better. Not to mention the tenacity and intensity he brings. I think based on those stats he is UNDERATED by the national media who is to busy riding JJ Watts nuts.

Link? You're already admitting he cares more about his salary than his team. That's character.
The nil seems to think he steps on players intentionally
Albert haynesworth was all about the $. same position. Disaster.

He is a big slow selfish tub of lard with a mental problem. Warren Sapp was triple teamed, but still fast enough to get to the QB

1 - "Suh's character" - Why should I really care about his character. He is not related to me and I don't know him personally. People have opinions and they vary, but stats DON'T. Since coming into the league, Suh is #1 in Sacks, and QB pressures at his position. So tell me how his character affects that at all. Will he stop producing those numbers simply because he is moving teams. I'm going to have to go with no
2 - "He is not a team player because he ditched Lions to go with Miami".....He was guaranteed an extra 2 million dollars after tax to sign with the Dolphins instead of the Lions. How many people would turn down a job promotion of 2 million dollars simply to stay in a city. Not like he was born and raised in Detroit with an Eminem tattoo across the chest. Maybe he prefers South Beach to Detroit (shocker) and he is making 2 million extra after taxes and more $ over the length of the deal. Again, I'm sure him not being a team player is going to affect those sack numbers and his overall ability.
3 - "Team chemistry"....Sure Suh is getting a chitload of money, but wait a second. You just said "money is #1" in one paragraph, and "he is not loyal for taking more money from Miami." Which is it? You can't use both when they are convenient to your point. Sure Suh is getting paid but so is JJ Watt. Is JJ Watt hurting the Texans because he signed that huge deal? Matter of fact, where would the Texans be WITHOUT JJ Watt?
4 - "Hayneworth comparison" - Alvert Haynesworth is fat and could care less about competing. Is there anything about Suh that tells you he is not a fierce competitor? How many guys take cheap shots, or step on necks or step on feet to try and gain and edge. People who are desperate to win at any cost.
Feel free to bet the Dolphins O/U. Who knows what type of team they will be with some holes to fill. A lot is going to be determined the rest of FA and through the draft, and with Wallace. However, the Dolphins will be getting Brandon Albert (one of best OL in the league) back and Suh (one of the best Dlineman in the league) To think getting those 2 players on the team will hurt them cannot be justified...Sounds like some sour grapes on your part that Oakland didn't get Suh.
Also people saying he got overpaid are correct, but most don't know 1 thing. As Dolphins fans, if they win ONE playoff game in the 4-5-6 years that he is on the team it will be a success, no matter how much they paid. Its been 15 years since a playoff win and one is all we ask for. The contract will be worth any penny if that happens. I don't speak for all Fins fans but how can you argue with 15 years of not winning 1 playoff game. Take a damn chance and overpay one of the 5 best defensive players in the game I Love it
Not just any 2 cities involved either....2 mil to move from freakin Detroit to Miami.....
It was a Duh for Suh
I dont like him, but if the Miami defense can get over him making all that money and being selfish....AND he performs like hes capable.....money well spent.

Pass defense starts at the defensive-line. The DB unit of Detroit played above average but not elite. Their d-line did a great job to make the life of Slay, Quin and co. much easier. The Jets had a children secondary last season and the only reason they didn't finish bottom ten in YPPA was their front seven. If you can't generate a decent pass rush, you can have the best corners in the league, just ask the Seahawks from the Super Bowl.

Create a list of NFL players, hell professional athletes who care more about their team than their salary. I'll wait.
Peyton Manning JJ Watt Russel Wilson
the list goes on, and on. Guys who say their goal is to win a championship.
I don't think when Peyton became a free agent, he went around saying "I'm going to the highest bidder". He could have made more $ elsewhere.
Russell Wilson never complained about the small salary he got, and he's made it clear he wants to stay in Seattle.
Like I said, the list goes on and on and on, most players aren't like Suh. Most players would be embarrassed to say their #1 goal is getting paid as much as they can.

championships. I feel like being in this offense and this organization
was the best place for me to have the opportunity for me to win
championships. That's my goal day-in and day-out to get those rings. I'm

These comments happen all the time. They're the rule, not he exception.

Enough said.
I will not argue that some players do take pay cuts (almost always late in career) to go to ELITE teams where they have a legitimate chance at winning a championship. Cobb knows the Packers have a great chance at winning SBs with a guy who is on his way to being one of the top 5 quarterbacks at all time. What receiver would not want to be a focal point in an Aaron Rodgers lead offense. Do you think Jerry Rice would have been as good with Andy Dalton or Matt Cassell as his quarterback? He was also 1 play from the Superbowl. In 5 years with the Lions, Suh hasn't won a playoff game.
What player do you know that would take a pay cut to stay with a mediocre team? Only guys who are EXTRA loyal. You say that is the rule, and not the exception and I know that isn't true. You list like 5 players in the NFL that aren't money hungry like Wilson and Manning and don't think about the other 1500 players. Not to mention you list guys like Watt and Wilson who either signed or will be signing extensions with their team and never being a part of free agency. I just see a lot of flaws in your thinking. You talk about this 'loyalty' NFL players should have when they could have a career ending injury tomorrow and be worth nothing. Of course they want to make as much money in a 10 year window as they can. Isn't that common sense?
Not saying Suh didn't get overpaid, he did. No argument here. Ross has to cut a 60$ million guaranteed check to him the day he signs. NFL is pissed because owners hate guaranteed contracts because in a way the richest owners could dominate the league and take over. I know that Miami is a type of team that doesn't have many hole. They can use 1 player at a few positions like WR, OL and LB but as a team they don't have many holes once they at Suh. They overpaid, but it was a monster need so well worth the risk.

Well look at it from another angle. The guy is already a millionaire, has and would get more money than any reasonable person needs
He has about 4 more years in his prime where he can play for a super bowl contender for similar money maybe 20 mil less
What's his priority. Sold to the highest bidder
Would you do the same
If I was a dolphin I wouldn't. Want this kind of a guy on my team, a guy whose goal is to get paid as much as he can even if he's ripping off an owner or destined to finish on a losing team

I'm also sure where his incentive is now that he got what he wanted most. Ifihad to guess he will be productive but nowhere near as dominating as he was in Detroit.
