Philadelphia enters this game after playing a near perfect game last week against Arizona.
Carolina enters this game with confidence after back to back road wins against the Patriots & Lions.
So, where do we find value?
What I see is a Carolina team that is rounding into form.
Cam Newton started the season recovering from off season shoulder surgery. The Panthers opted to take things slowly with Cam during the preseason and the rust from the time off coupled with a shoulder that was still recovering showed during the first few weeks of the regular season.
The early season struggles of Cam painted Carolina as a team that was underachieving. I think that they are still undervalued at this point.
Conversely, The Eagles were a team that entered the season hoping to take the next step towards the playoffs with second year quarterback Wentz. With question marks in the secondary, expectations were tempered.
Philadelphia is playing above their heads so far this young season.
A 4-1 record, with the lone loss coming at the hands of Kansas City, has Eagle fans beyond excited and rightfully so.
Upon closer examination, Philadelphia's 4 wins have come at the expense of teams with a combined record of 3-12.
After playing a near flawless game last week against a fading and aging Cardinal team, the Eagles now go on the road, on short rest to play a Panther team playing with a lot of confidence.
Eagles were 2-8 last year when Lane Johnson didn't play.
His status is still unclear.
The feeling here is that this is a Panther line too
The linemakers giving the hook will entice Philly action.
Eagle backers will feel comfortable knowing that they could lose by three and still cover has all the earmarks of a setup.
The Eagles played a near perfect game last week, there is nowhere to go but down.
Carolina Panthers -3 1/2
