Here are the stats as of last week.
Warner- 68.4% completion (top), 4290 yds (second by 40 yds), 7.8 YPC, 26TDs, 13INTs, 24 sacks 97.5 passer rating
Manning- 65.2% completion, 3543 yds, 6.9 YPC, 23 TDs, 12 INTs, 13 sacks, 90.3 passer rating
You tell me who has the better numbers? Is there one category that Manning is better?
Who played the tougher sechedule? Who has the better defense (Indy #9, Cards #14)
Indy- Chi, Minn, Jax, Hou, Balt, GB, Tenn, NE, Pitt, Hou, SD, Clev,Cinn, Det ( 6 maybe but 5 for sure playoff teams)
AZ- SF. Mia, Wash,NYJ,Buff,Dallas,Car,StL, Sea, NYG, Phil, Minn (8 or 9 playoff teams including NE).
The Cards played only TWO non division team that wont make the playoffs, assuming the late season Washington swoon continues.
Warner has carried the team with no running game, very poor pass protection and a brutal passing defense who gives up points and yards to anyone.
No comparison, tell me how in one category that Manning with his history and team deserves it over Warner?
On AP, he has done well when it counts, but if you look earlier in the season he has FIVE games under 100 yds rushing and is only tied for NINETH in rushing TDs..there is plenty of reason to question his qualifications for MVP.
