Ravens +3.5 (-116) to win 50 units- *PLAY OF THE MONTH*
I'm totally confused as to why everyone is so comfortable betting the Steelers. The Steelers had a lot of frustration and wanted to play for respect against the Pats and everyone was bothering them saying Brady owned them. Now all of a sudden the Steelers are the AFC leading contenders and the Ravens are a mediocre team after they played 2 sloppy games against teams they weren’t excited to play. The Ravens have dominated good teams this season beating the Texans, Steelers, and Jets with ease. The Steelers beat the Pats but lost to the Texans and Ravens so they are not anything too special.
It is very difficult to play two HUGE games in a row with the same intensity. This game will be tough for Pitt and reminds me a lot of last year's playoffs. The Jets beat the Pats in round 2 to revenge a large defeat and had nothing left emotionally in the tank for the Steelers. Now I know the Steelers are going to want revenge after getting destroyed in Week 1, but you know what the Ravens have been knocked out by Pitt 3 times in the playoffs this decade and haven’t won the division since 2006 after countless number of squandered chances so they will want to beat Pitt again and will want it as much as Pitt. The Ravens will be so hungry to win this game knowing that with a win here the division is theres. They now return to the stadium where they absolutely blew a win last year. The Ravens spent their whole season preparing a way to beat the Steelers. The Ravens are catching Pitt in a bad spot this week.
Not only are the Steelers coming off of an emotional game versus the Pats, but they are banged up.Linebackers in Farrior and Woodley are out so that’s really gonna hurt their pass rush.Harrision will play but who knows how good he’ll be after his vision got impaired a few weeks ago.The Ravens have a terrific running attack and should be able to wear down Pitt.Unlike the Pats, the Ravens have deep threats and physical wideouts. This will cause Ike Taylor and the good Pitt secondary to play off the wideouts more. The Ravens have been blocking well so Flacco will be able to throw it against an underachieving Steelers pass rush.
On the other side of the ball the Steelers are not gonna be in for a comfortable evening. The Steelers have not run well and are now going up against the 3rd best run D in the league. This will lead to a lot of 3rd and longs, which is not good against Terrell Suggs, Ngata, Johnson, and Lewis who help lead Balty in being the 2nd best in the league at pressuring the QB.To go with this terrific pass rush the RAVENS HAVE THE 3RD BEST PASS D SO DON’T EXPECT BIG BEN TO CONVERT THOSE 3RD AND LONGS UNDER PRESSURE LIKE HE DID AGAINST THE HORRENDOUS PATS PASS D.The Ravens gave up 27 points at home to the Cards but the D did well, as those Cardinals points were off of garbage punt returns, Flacco turnovers, and one long pass to Fitzgerald.
Many people are nervous on betting such a short spread on Joe Flacco who has choked many times.Consider this, Flacco finally beat the Steelers with Big Ben playing so he’ll be confident and that they can win and he definitely won’t want to get back in the losing column. This game the Ravens are not expected to win unlike last year so that’s when they are at their best playing a simple game on the road. The Ravens have won so many big playoff road games in hostile environments so I think they are the most prepared for this situation compared to any team in the league.Last year Pitt was much better than this year, and the Ravens had them by the balls in Week 13 blowing a 7 point lead at home.In the playoffs the Ravens were up 21-7 in Pitt before collapsing in the 2nd half. Now Pitt is banged up, off of an emotional game and has all the expectations to win at home, wouldn’t it fit perfectly that the Ravens win the division in Pittsburgh to avenge last year’s defeat.Terrell Suggs wants Hines Ward to play and the Ravens want the Steelers best shot cause they wanna show who’s the better team.
After the last couple weeks the line shoulda been about Pitt -4 to -4.5.It however, opened at -3.5 and reversed down to -3 even though the public is on Pitt. The books as well as the sharps think the Ravens have a great chance to win this here and I agree.GO AND GET THE DIVISION RAVENS!

Kevin Kolb is out and you know what I think that’s a great thing for the Cardinals. Last year, backup John Skelton went 2-0 at home as a starter even beating the impressive Cowboys. The team is going to be pumped up and will be extra focused for the kid and the crowd loves him.The Cardinals will be able to pass on the Rams mediocre pass D, as Fitzgerald will chew up Justin King and Doucet will do fine against Al Harris.Skelton will be able to avoid the Rams decent pass rush since the Rams are the worst in the league at stopping the run.Beanie Wells should do well here after averaging almost 4 yards a carry against a stout Ravens D.The Cards have given the Giants and Steelers close games at home. They also almost beat the Ravens in Balty and should be confident and hungry to beat the Rams and avoid the cellar of the NFC.The Rams won last week but it’s not easy translating that to road success. The Cardinals are 6th in the league against the run so Steven Jackson won’t have a good game.St. Louis doesn’t have anything special at wideout and Bradford hasn’t even been able to practice a ton all week so he’ll be rusty and Feely is not gonna do much on the road. The Cards have improved their pass rush since adding Ocho and Schofield. The Cards take this one.
Patriots -9 (-104) to win 20 units
9 points is a lot to lay on a team that has a bad pass D.However, the Pats should steam the Giants this week and cover the lofty number.Let’s take a look;
The Giants are missing Pierre-Paul (DE) and Amukumara (DB) on defense. The Giants are a terrible 26th in the league against the run, while the Pats are 12th running the football.I expect Bellichick to use Ridley and Green-Ellis much more after the Kevin Faulk experiment didn’t work last week. The Pats can run on the G-Men and nullify their pass rush.Missing Pierre-Paul is a huge loss and the other Giants pass rushers in Tuck and Umenyiora are still getting back to form after their injuries. The Pats are ready for the pass rush and I think Brady gets time to throw seeing how the Pats are one of the better lines at protecting the QB.The Giants DBs are not physical like Pitt so I think Welker and Co. have a great bounce back game here.
On D the Pats get Haynesworth back to stop the run. This should be big because Ahman Bradshaw is out for the G-Men and the G-Men and their 2nd last rushing attack won’t do anything with the ineffective and unhappy Brandon Jacobs. This will lead to a lot of 3rd and longs.Hakeem Nicks is out and the Giants don’t have as much depth as Pitt to really spread out the Pats 3rd and 4th DBs and expose them. The Pats are angry after getting beat last week and I think they get it goin this week.

Bengals +3 (-122) to win 15 units (GOT LINE ON MATCHBOOK TODAY)
For all you bettors out there that like public plays here’s one for you.The Bengals have not been winning pretty, but you know what they are winning and a young team like that will continue to want to keep things rolling. The Titans are playing like shit getting steamed by the Steelers and Texans and even getting outgained by the Colts in a game where the large score differential was due a blocked punt and some common Indy Turnovers.
The Titans have the worst run O in the league.Guess what the Bengals have the 2nd best run D in the league. This is gonna cause a ton of 3rd and longs for Hasselback who won’t have much success throwing against Hall and Clements and the Bengals top 10 pass D.The Bengals also have a solid pass rush so I think they’ll cause some problems. The Bengals offense isn’t terrific but it’s effective.Cedric Benson is back in the lineup and should be able to gash a Titans run defense that is severely declining over the past 4 weeks. The Titans have a good pass D, but Dalton is getting better each game for Cincy and should hit his targets and play smart with the good D of the Bungles. The Titans also have no pass rush to bother Dalton.Marvin Lewis has really prepared this team well to be an effective team to win on the road.Everyone including myself is talking about Balty and Pitt playing for the division this week.Guess what though, the Bengals can stay in a tie for first with a win today and I think their players play with pride and are loose.

Former Texans running back who is decent is in and he can do well against a mediocre Texans run D on top of his added motivation. The Texans are missing their safety, Browns have Massaquoi back and McCoy returns to Texas so I think he'll have a big game. Hillis and his bloody distractions are gone with the injury. The Browns have a top 10 pass D and without Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter being banged up, Joe Haden and Sheldon Brown hold the Texans in check. The Browns will completely focus on the run and I think they hang around in this game, as the Texans have played many physical games and off of a double-digit cover last week might have a tough time here.

Great play and here's why. NE is an offensive team. They don't win by preventing the other team from scoring, Brady will just out score you period. Their defensive line and secondaries are horrible if not worst in the nfl. Big Ben scored on them to win the game and defense kept Brady from score. They won the game as end result.
What i don't understand is why Pitt giving points. Heres why, Pitt won emotionally last week. Pts inflated for the public. To top that, add the home advantage, and revenge factor Espn has been hype-ing up all week + 6pts.
On the other side ravens d line and passing rush is godly. -3 and ray rice will keep the steelers d and LB boxed which will open Flacco to take advantage of the vertical game. -3 do you end up with -3.5 line.
My question is, would u buy into that -3.5 inflated line? In my book this is pk game. 3.5 is free points. BUT I can be wrong. GL!

Good luck Your analysis of the Ravens/Steelers game is spot on. Everyone dismisses the first game as an abberation and uses the revenge factor as a reason to bet the Squealers. To me the first game showed that the Ravens are a vastly superior team. Squealers got blown out when everyone was healthy. What they gonna do with their best defensive player (Woodley) gone. Everyone points to the Squealers winning 4 in a row but who did they beat other than the Pats. The Squealers did to the Pats what the Ravens did to the Steelers in week one. Ravens spent all off season preparing to beat the Steelers and did so in a big way but turned around the next week and lost to the Titans in an obvious letdown game. Steelers have focused everything on beating Brady last week and they did so rather easily. I see a letdown coming in this game.

Harrison, Woodley, and Farrior are out. Patriots D is pathetic, and the Steelers have not seen a D like the Ravens since week 1. Houston was other good D and we saw what happened. Ravens all day...public perception is that Pitt is flying high, and Ravens are not very good...which is wrong. Ravens play to the level of their competition always have. They will be ready for this one
You're the first person I've read say this and it's 100% correct.

Harrison's not playing and Woodley is playing but he has a bad hamstring so he won't be flying around knocking people's heads off like his usual self- Aaron Smith is on the IR for the past 2 weeks and that's gonna be a problem pass rushing a Ravens Offense that has been decent at protecting Flacco
Gotta disagree with ya here as far as the Ravs O line protecting Flacco. Having said that i like the Ravens here to RUN RICE 25 times and gring out a win or cover. My biggest concernis keeping Wallace in check. If i can get the hook i'm gonna check now, i'm gonna play them also. GL

Letdown, have any of you guys or gals played a sport in your life. Letdown, you are on serious drugs. Payback beatdown is coming tonight. If Pitt uses the same offensive strategy as last week, Ravens will be shredded. Seriously, Chris Carr, Daryl Williams, Caveman Ed Reed, make Ray Lewis cover someone, he cannot cover anymore.

Go eat some Biscuits, you must be as big as a house. U know what I mean, Flacco will be running for his life tonight and everyone knows that he has cement feet.

With you on Baltimore and Washington. Think the spots set up nicely for both teams. Glad to see you on these. Good luck with the card mtb.
hey Reyes I didn't end up taking Washington, just couldn't find reason to support that pick other than the fact that it was a good spot for Wash. I like the Ravens a ton and I also think Wash cashes but can't pull the trigger. BOL buddy
