3. What is the sample size required in order to determine a long-term winner? I know this is heavily dependant on many variables but roughly how many bets are required to know if someone is profitable in the long term because many people can experience positive variance for a short time and then a correction will occur.
4. I noticed you said you really don't like your job. I understand how it can be draining mentally and how you are like a robot I get that. But do you mean you really don't even like sports or watching them at all? Please elaborate.
5. In terms of how you cap games using solely mathematical models. Are these models you have developped yourself or are they available online somewhere. I would like to enhance my use of tools like this as a way of confirming what I see with my naked eye (which is never as close to accurate as people think) in wathcing the games so I am curious how you go about this.
I know that's a lot of questions but answers to any of them would be very helpful.
Appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions as you are the most sensible poster around here.
Thanks
I feel like I am on Bill Oreilly today.
1. I bet on NCAAF, NFL, MLB, and Soccer.
2. I spend 100% of my time how I want, dont have a boss, dont ask for vacation time, and have time to write insults to my homies at covers. What could be better? Honestly though, lots of downsides, needs to be carefullly considered - but for me it works.
3. No magic number. I set goals for seasons.
4. I dont like sports. For instance, I havent watched an NBA game for probably 10 years because I dont bet it. If I stopped betting sports, I doubt I would watch any sport other than soccer ever again. I dont understand the psychology of the "fan" - my citys millionaire players are better than your citys millionaire players? Huh? And I will get crazy when they win even though I get nothing from it other than being able to say I am a fan? Huh?
5. Mine, proprietary, and tweaked daily over time. Always evolving and changing. Best way to judge success of your statistical line is by comparing it to actual results in history.
My "busy" schedule is similar to Billy Madisons - full of jack off magazines and sitting on sprinkler heads.
