Followed GB my whole life. Farve at one time was one of the best.Over the past few years he is at best an average QB. More interceptions than t.d.s and very suspect decision making. His skills have deteriated. I believe he will reappear somewhere in Nov. or Dec. when a starting q.b. goes down from a contending team. He loves the spot light and he wouldn't be risking injury for the entire season. I also doubt any opposing team is at all worried that his once magic might reappear. Farve needs to be on a great team if he is to succeed and i say that with tongue in cheek. His now lack of talent will be exposed on any lesser team. He will bring in the fanfare and maybe some owners will feel thats enough. All in all i agree with most, he should just retire and feel blessed that he at one time there was no better.

While I agree he is not as great as once was, He is way better then average. Even last year he threw for 3472 yards, with a 65.2% completion percent in a offense he had never seen before. He threw 22 TDs and 22 ints but over the last 4 games, which he was hurt, 2tds and 8 ints. So until he was injured they were atop the AFC East, beating the Pats and a undefeaded Titans team on the road. So people who said hes washed up, or hes average at best dont know what there talking about. I know your tired of hearing about it , but dont let that cloud your football knowlege. Do you really think the Vikes would even entertain this idea if they didnt know with some certainty that he could play at a high level?

this must be why the minn/clev game is off the board at bjm. I don't mind him coming back....shows how much he loves the game and loves to compete. 90% of the players in the nfl don't love the game and just are in it for the
minnesota looked real sharp vs the Colts and Farve makes them a title favorite with that D and Peterson as long as he doesn't throw interceptions.

For the record Im tired of this also, and am not a Vikings fan. But the things that he brings to this Offense ( Even at his age ) makes them a real contender. No more 8 men fronts for Peterson for one. That alone makes this "O" one of the toughest in the league. Another thing is his vision. He can see what the other QBs there cant. Lets not forget how good he looked last year until he got hurt. If I was a NFC north fan of any team other then Minny, I would be worried. You might be tired of it, you might hate him for it, but dont think for minute this doesnt make them a way better team.
It's not. Childress lost a lot of respect from his players the way he let Favre string him and the franchise around this summer.
If he allows Favre suit up in a few weeks, he totally loses the team. Season in the tank.

THAT, you can bet on.
That is all BS. These guys are professional athletes who make millions of dollars for their craft. I dont give a shit if the owner wants to brink back Tarkinton himself. These guys will play, and probably play at a higher level knowing they have someone they can trust running the Offense. I mean its messed up in ways but its buisness.

No they will not. Play at a higher level knowing you have a flaky, fragile, egotistical, primadonna, past his prime qb behind center who jerked the entire organization around, and a spineless coach who obviously will put said player above the team and cater to him at any cost.
Yep. The recipe for a successful season in the NFL.

The Jets played at a higher level until he got hurt. When was the last time you really thought the Jets had a shot to go other then around week 11 or week12 when they beat the Titans in Tenn. And I said nothing about recipe for success. But I would rather have Favre now then any other QB in Minny. And winning is what its all about.

Do you think Favre is stirring this pot or the media wants something to talk about before real football starts?
Both. But I do think Favre might be bored. From what I know of his personallity, he could easily just be sitting back on his lawn mower an saying" Im gona text Longwell I'll be there soon and see long it takes to get to the media". Then watch sportscenter and laugh.

Could be both and prob. is but I agree with Fight, he does come with a certain % of " Danger " to anyone that lines up on the other side of scrimage from him, esp. if he is healthy, can't deny that.

He should rent a copy of Forest Gump.... and watch it or find something else to do... because he is not nearly as bored with himself as I am of his ComeBack Masturbation FANTASY

Fightin: All yur doing is making excuses about injury's to a old q.b. Nothing is clouding my mind about Farve. Iv'e watched him every play for 14yrs. There is no comparison to the Farve then and the Farve now. As far as him going to Minn. thats all a ploy to get back at G.B. for not resigning him 2yrs ago.Theres all sorts of resentment between him and G.B. management and if u would researsh it yur theory about Farve would have no basis. After reading every article in the Milw paper for the last 14yrs and every quote he mentioned about feeling screwed by G.B. for not resigning him and watching him play every down for that period i believe my thought process is on target.

IMO - If Favres only reason for coming back is to get back at the packers, a division rival that has talent and whom the Vikes look at as a threat, then if im a Vikes fan im saying please come back and get um. Do you think he, an aarogant cocky SOB, would come back to seek revenge if he knew he couldnt play. Cmon. Let me ask you this, Do you think the first 3 quarters of the season last year he played above average? After that he got hurt. It may be he cant handle a full season. It maybe he just got hurt. But if im the Vikes, with the team they have, I know I cant win the super Bowl with the qBs I have, I at least have a shot with Favre cause if nothing else no more 8 man fronts for Peterson.

Fightin: Farve had great recievers in G. B. and if im not mistaken a couple of good ones in NY. Now do u really believe any nfl team is concerned about Minn passing the ball with or without Farve to the recievers Minn has. Now lets get to blunt of this. Why do think G.B. refused to resign him. At that point they new he was still a decent qb but he became a head case. Half way and at the end of the season the Jets players detailed to the media how Farve isolated himself from them and wasn't the leader they thought he was. There is no denying that it occured. Now not only has his skills gone south but his leadership has been put in question. Minn can have him and i realize they have a good team but Farve is not in my opinion gonna lead them to a S.B. I guess we'll just agree to disagree.
