My biggest single bet was btwn $1200 - $1500 when I had about $150 in the bank. Some meaningless Monday night game... the only thing left before settling with the book. I was 21 and hated every second.
By the end of that year I WAS the book and did the same thing to somebody else, only he lost and I collected $5k... I had a partner so the kid must have had $5000 on his last game. He didn't know a f**king thing about basketball, and I enjoyed running up the favorite lines to where they were all but impossible.
But the most memorable gambling night was when I scraped together everything I had and bet against the doug christie lakers vs the spreewell warriors. Won $330, took that to the blackjack table and won another $1k. Not bad for a doped-out college kid. Good enough to get me hooked for the next 15 years, I know that!
I'm enjoying myself much more with the small action these days. thanks to this site - at least it seems like it - I'm winning steadily in 2008. ain't much $ but it's still fun.

$11,000 on Corey Brewer Over 11.5 points (+125) in last years National Championship Game.
He scored 10 in the first half, hit 1 free throw a minute into the 2nd half. Went 0/6 from the field in the second half, sat for 3 minutes and with 0:31 seconds left he was fouled and went to the line to shoot two shots. He missed the first one and nailed the second, but it got called back because Noah had a lane violation. He got the ball with 9 seconds left but passed it off for some reason when the other guy got fouled. I guess Corey had the Under.
BTW, did he get drafted?
That's one of the most fucked up ways to lose a bet I've ever heard. I feel for you man. That's shitty. If that happened to me, I would have never gambled again. Totally awful.

Many things wrong about this post
The Kentucky Derby does not have seperate legs.....It is the 1st leg of the Triple Crown (which has three legs). If you knew enough about the ponies to bet Charasmatic then you would not be retarded enough to take anything less than track odds. I smell some BS
