dont mind the play,scalabrine...i think it hits(if that means anything haha).....only thing gives me the jitters is them rockets,if they get in a hole early and cant dig out i see them packing it in early honestly...as hard as that may be to believe i dont see too many hi-character guys/street fighters on that team and think over-all a weak mentality cud be exposed if things dont go their way......BUT hopefully it dont come to that,if ever theres a game they gonna scrap and fight tooth and nail its rite here rite now...nets shud handle bizness......as always, friend

Scal, I can't believe my luck. Took Nets ML to win 500 and another 500 on the -5. What the hell?! They both hit 90% of the time with a lead like that in the 4th. Meanwhile the Bulls get Nene (their biggest match-up problem) kicked out, the refs give them every call at the end, Dunleavy has the game of his life, and they win a game they could have easily lost. I give up! I did not bet the Wiz but merely pointing out how a game that should have covered did not and another that should not have covered did.

BB,
You cannot F with the playoff lines this year. Dogs are hitting, and many times SU, at an unprecedented rate, and I mean in the most ideal spots where the favorite should not just win, but should crush them.
That is why I teased this game and why I had a write-up as to why you should tease it (or at worst, play a ML with a grossly reduced payout).
This line of -5 (and it will continue to be that or just about that on both courts) is very, very sharp.
These games can end at 4,5,6 or 7.
That is way too risky to play a line of -5 or even +5 in a series that has really been about 1 or two baskets the whole year.
I thought you were going all in on the ML?
That actually was a better play than playing the line here! As I said, the ML was VERY strong.
I didn't think you would chase this line. It's not a good betting line
And the Bulls. Dunleavy...incredible...you know full well the NBA hates Hates hates sweeps too.
You're gonna get that job anyway and you won't have to worry about this minefield of betting anymore.

beginnerboy,i cant for the life of me understand why you dont just tail scalabrine and go pretty big on his plays instead of cursing the gambling gods every time you get stitched up by unforeseen circumstances on your own plays.yes, its been an absolutely bizarre playoff stretch in terms of wacky results but thats sports,right??...youve known this dude for a long while now and trust him,right??....not sure why you wudnt just back him, knowing that,at absolute worst(and i havent seen a period where this has happened yet),you will break even.........its not like you wud get killed in any case as he is so selective and doesnt put a huge amount of bankroll at risk every single day

In his defense, he's been at this long enough to make his own picks and I think he comes on here for tidbits of info but has his own games capped well in advance.
For example, I do not tail LC and I guarantee he doesn't tail me. Why? We both are competent enough to cap our own games and write them up.
The problem comes with these playoffs in particular, which in my life, are among the most bizarre I have ever seen over the first three games, as you notes, and could be quite brutal if you bet on the teams that made you tons of money all year (spurs 0-2 ATS at home OKC 1-2 ATS 2 at home bulls 1-2 ATS 2 at home Rockets 0-2 ATS and 0-2 ML at home).

yep, they have been one wild and crazy ride thus far scalabrine and that is where discretion comes in,sumthing you clearly specialise in...i,like many others, tail you almost without exception regardless cos,as i say,the absolute extreme worst you will do is perhaps hover round break-even(and thats probably not even happening).........i think ive only passed on one of your plays all year long of the ones ive seen.
anyhow,as soon as beginnerboy felt himself tightening up and going on tilt it wud have been a good idea i feel,to just sit back and play a few of your plays and see if he can get back to square one that way given there is clearly a bond and trust between you 2....thats wat friends is for, right??to lean on in grim times.
to continue tryna predict the wildly unpredictable in a hi-volume way is just dicing with death, proverbially speaking...you shud be seen as sumwat of an outlet/pressure valve for wen things go sour i believe......only yourself and 3 or 4 other guys i trust on the whole site to follow blindly

Nice hit, Scal. The Rockets fought until the bitter end, if only they had played like this at home. I really thought the Nets would cover the 5 because of the officiating (I gave it another 1.5-2 points) and when added to yours it came to 6.5-7. And guess what, if Williams hits those gift free throws they gave him when he was trapped in the corner and lost the ball, I would have been dead on with the number. Those raptors players must know by now that NBA does not want them in the next round. All this knowledge and I still can't make a profit.
I'm gonna try it once more tomorrow but this time I will go all in. I'm going all in betting on a team I despise almost as much as the Warriors. A team of chuckers, with one of the worst coaches that an elite team can have; a team with two of the best players on the planet who still have not learned how to play off of each other; a team that seems to play tighter and tighter as the years go on and as opportunities slip away (one by one); a team that everyone expects will bounce back tomorrow because they simply can't go down 3-1, especially since (outside the Heat) they are the league's favorite team; a team that doesn't value possessions and doesn't understand the difference between a high percentage shot and a low percentage shot; a team that thinks it can get by on talent and effort alone and therefore doesn't think enough or play intelligently enough in the big moments; in short, a team that has good chance of losing tomorrow!

In fact, I think both the Spurs and Heat are a better bet tomorrow. Why? Because they are intelligent teams. They'll play the right way in the big moments, while my team will just chuck, chuck and chuck, hoping to hit its target. Oh what joy! And by now they must be due, I mean isn't Durant the MVP of the league? Isn't Westbrook one of the most talented guards this league has ever seen? And with talent like that why make the game easy. Give yourself handicap. Instead of shooting 12-18 footers just shoot 30 footers. Makes the game more exciting. Gives your opponent a chance. No one is impressed by layups, and surely those 30 footers will start going in any day now. Maybe even tomorrow!
