Hank and Cash said they will not be included in the AROD dog and pony show. And they weren't. AROD came to them. Which is probably what Minny is going to do b4 this whole thing goes down. Yanks clearly are offering the best package. They want Hughes badly to replace Santana (not lester).

"It's clear he didn't want to be a Yankee," Hank Steinbrenner told the Daily News last night. "He doesn't understand the privilege of being a Yankee on a team where the owners are willing to pay $200 million to put a winning product on the field.
"We're not going to back down," Steinbrenner said. "It's goodbye."
Now clearly the dynamics changed when A-Rod fired Boras and approached the Yankees. I get that. But the point I'm making is there are PLENTY of other things that could happen in THIS situation as well to allow conversations to re-open between the Yankees and MN. That's all I'm saying.
Personally, I think MN wants Ellsbury and Lester over Hughes and Cabrera.....but they for SURE want a pitcher back then can make their rotation this year.

I agree 100%. I don't think the Minny is done w/ the Yanks yet. I don't think they like the 2 BOS offers. And Minny knows that BOS is just trying to run the price up for the Yanks (nothing wrong w/ that). As a Yankee fan, I could care less. I truly believe Hughes and Joba are going to be Stars...as for Kennedy...dont know much about him other than that 1 hitter he threw last year. We finally have a fantastic Defensive CF in Melky. Either way its a win win. On the other side of the coin, BOS getting Santana would clearly make them the favorites to rule MLB in the next couple of years.
