I don't think anyone here hates the Phillies and Jayson cocksmoking Werth any more than I do.
That being said, I just don't see how the Reds could win this series or even force a Game 5. Halladay has been LIGHTS OUT at home. Oswalt the same, only problem he hasn't gotten the run support.
Reds MIGHT win one game at home. I won't be betting at the series though. Just tossing in my $0.02

You can analyze the matchups all you want. It most likely will not matter because it won't play out the way you see it. These reds players have never been to the playoffs. You cannot look at stats from meaningless regular season games. Yes Bronson arroyo sucks against the phils but he could pitch amazing in his first postseason. You Philly fans are crazy I tell you.

I really don't think that argument holds water. We have seen many many hot teams squeak themselves into the MLB playoffs and get red hot (Marlins, Rockies, etc). I think experience is a good thing, but it's not the end-all factor. Sometimes having no pressure works for you very well. As long as Dusty does not leave his starters out on the bump too long to get raked in the 6th and 7th (something he has done in the past in SF and Cubs), I think the Reds have a solid chance.

So youre gonna use Phillies experience and the Reds lack of as a reason Philly fans are carzy??
People on covers are just gettin dumber and dumber

Must be a great time to be a bookie in the city of Philadelphia. Here's what a typical exchange probably sounds like:
Bookie (obviously named Sal or Vinny): What can I do for you?
Square-ball: I want action on the Phillies to win in round one. I don't care what the line is, there's no way in hell we're losing to the fucking Reds.
Bookie: Alright then, the line is -450.
Square-ball: Put me down for a couple dimes. This is so fucking easy. I don't even care that I can lay -250 offshore because you don't pay juice on a winner. LMAO, does this gift come with a card?

2nd yes the phils do probably have the pitching edge, they did all season long finishing 5th to the reds 7th in the NL. Halladay does make me nervous in the 1st game because Travis Wood took a perfect game into the 9th and the Reds still lost to him.
However Volquez has been rocking sent they brought him back up from A ball after he worked some stuff out. Arroyo has been here before with Boston (pitched against the Yankees in the playoffs, bigger than this thats for sure) and Cueto has been great all season long. I saw one post saying Cueto is 1-2 with a 6 ERA against the phils, thats because one start he gave up about 12 runs in the 1st inning, I think will blow anyones ERA up a lil bit. So if it really is sitting at 6 then that means the other 2 starts were pretty good.
Whoever said the Phils have a better defense is high, B phil will win the gold glove at 2nd, Rolen possibly at 3rd, Votto has had a very good year at 1st. Stubbs in center can cover everything, and bruce has a cannon.
Jay Bruce and Stubbs are both on fire right now and have been 2 of the hottest hitters in MLB, over the last 30 each has 7 homers and batting over 300, and Jay missed about 2 weeks in there.
Arroyo won 17 games, and the reds closer/bullpen situation I would rather have than the phils and Lidge. Chapman will K Ryan Howard everytime, fastball on the hands, slider away..easy
And not to mention the NL MVP Joey V!!
The actual season record was 6-2 in favor of the phils, but every single one of the of the reds losses came by 1 run or in extras, 3 games in philly were in extras and the last was a 1-0 game.
So basically what I am saying is dont count them out yet, anything else you want to know?

not to mention the record was actually 5-2 phils and we beat Halladay once, so its closer than ppl think it is. Plus we have been beating up Oswalt when he was with Houston this season.

I want to know how the Reds have a better defense? If you think Stubbs covers ground, watch Victorino play. And Werth, for his size and strength, also covers alot of ground. Enough for Charlie to trust him to play CF when Shane is out. Ill give you Rolen at 3rd, but Polanco has played outstanding this year for the Phils at 3rd. And gimme Jimmy and Utley in the middle.

Hit the link where I said that, the Reds are at 72 errors, phils 83, therefore have a better fielding percentage, = a better defense. U can have jimmy and utley, ill bphil (GG) and whoever my SS happens to b, even if its Paul Janish, my backup. He would win the GG at SS if he was the full season starter

i'm hoping for a reds sweep. can they do that by scoring 2 runs in the series? i see big flop coming. hate to say it but you know who is getting to the world series again? they are so much better than the rest of the league. it's the closest lock i've seen in sports in a while, as far as the NLCS is concerned. hope AL winner puts up a fight.
