Don't worry about it Irish. This woman is not angry at you or anything she's just very worried about her husband going over to aghanistan, that is very understandable because she might never see him again if the unthinkable happens.
Anyway good luck to you and your army buddies, we Americans really appreciate all you servicemen serving this great country of ours...thanks a million!!

Hey, you slipped........not the end of the world for anyone involved. It sounds like your buddy is gonna have issues with this gal no matter what the situation, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.......maybe give him a "sorry man" next time you talk.

It's like you said............you signed up for it.
Women w/servicemen also need to realize THEY have signed on, too.
Most jobs don't have a customer service department that includes guns..................tell her to wake up and smell the ammo. He's not going over there to hang curtains..............
I mean, what is this chick going to say? "If you get killed over there, I AM GOING TO BE SO PISSED!"

I can't understand why those a broad think dying for an unjustified war is the correct thing to do???? Maybe because being 21 and not understanding all of what life has to offer may control the convuluded mind? I know I'm Anti-war bullshit person, dude get a life and grow up, you probably wouldn't be so gung-ho about killing another IMO
How many of your platoon are over 25 yr's old??? Maybe that should tell you that once you reach a certain age/reality then you recognize killing/fighting is not the wisest choice
I know the gov't teaches you otherwise, but you gotta answer my question 1st off how many 25+ yr olds are stuck dealing w/ the shit you do on a daily basis...Don't you think the TRUTH is in your answer, 0, since the grown-ups realize/understand that war and killing is not something to take lightly...I don't care if they try to kill you on their homeland, like you are doing, as all of us would do the same, so how many of them are wanting to aim at you while drinking starbucks or reading a book at borders???? I'm guessing 0, and if they truly want to create your demise, shouldn't you recognize the basic fundamental laws of our own society that makes them have to answer to a court??? I know kill 1st and blow their asses away, since the constitution that we try to hold and protect is so much in favor of that philosophy

mwhit..........That's just rude. A Covers brother that has chosen to serve & protect our country simply asked for our opinions on a situation he had. He has no control over what he & his brothers/sisters are ordered to do by the CIC.
If you want to go in this direction I suggest you start another thread for that discussion....

mwhit82....my friend, you really need to grow up. I'm turning 29 in a few weeks...my contract with the Army has been expired for over 4 years and I have never considered leaving. I have spent 3 years of my life deployed in Iraq/Afghanistan and am leaving again first week of March for a 4th tour. I have killed the enemy, I have been injured by the enemy, I have seen the enemy killed men who fought alongside me. I do not seek praise and as I tell my younger soldiers who get in trouble and act like they are entitled....."we aren't entitled to shit, except maybe a discount at Outback steakhouse." Like I stated earlier, we SIGNED UP for this. The men who serve there contracts and then leave for greener pastures in the civilian world....I salute them. Those who choose to stay, I am proud of them as well. Why are you telling me to "get a life and grow up?" What exactly have I done to offend you?? I shake my head when I see you give the enemy a reason to try and kill Americans. Unreal. Some people in this country are anti-war. Understood. But some aren't really just anti-war. A lot of Americans are like you. Ashamed. Listen...the Army is not for everyone. Don't feel ashamed just because you'd rather drink that Starbucks coffee then reach down there and grab a pair. The world needs Starbucks drinkers. And the world needs Soldiers. We chose different paths. I've got several men over the age of 25 and most of those guys are in leadership positions. As a Commander, my 1st Sergeant has 18 years in the Army. Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Are you educated? Because despite what you and John Kerry think (military have no options in life), I have a Masters degree so true, I guess i dont NEED the Army. But the Army has always been good to me and they take care of my family. Killing the Taliban is just a bonus.
"I wouldn't be so gung-ho about killing." Dude, let me be perfectly honest with you. The rag-tag insurgents in Iraq depressed me. But killing Taliban soldiers who throw their babies in boiling water for misbehaving.....I feel nothing but joy when I walk a battlefield after a gun-fight and see those idiots laying around dirty and dead.
