Gonna save 40 bucks a month and I can go watch the NFL ticket at my buddies house. How the fuck are you gonna take comedy central off? When it comes back I bet they jack up the bill to. Viacom can also go fuck themselves. Nobody wants your bullshit stations except comedy and maybe spike.

Geez, Direct TV just can't win with idiots like you can they? They cave in to all these channels making outrageous fee increase demands, which they would have to pass on to the customers (in other words, YOU) and you complain that the bill keeps going up. Or they negotiate to try to get a better price so your bill doesn't keep going up, and you still complain.

Nice avatar Bling. Was that taken at your parents house after you got your birthday money? Maybe you will understand when you pay your own bills and move out of the basement baller. Best get that GED first though.

I haven't had cable/direct in almost a year now. I don't miss it one bit. Like you said, a friends house for NFL Ticket or a cheap sports bar is all you need. Lets you socialize more as well. Other than that I stream sports and read books.

Yea my kids aren't very happy with it either. I was going to cancel it when my 2 year contract ended next month, but my god damn wife ordered another hd dvr for the kids in January so we are stuck with the shit for another yr and a half.
Bling their contract is 7 years old why wouldn't Viacom expect it to be updated? Direct tv is just shit now the only reason I stuck with it was for the NFL other then that they don't have anything that separates them from regular cable.

I never said they shouldn't expect it to be updated. But the price increase Viacom is demanding is ridiculous. Should DirectTV cave in and just accept their demands? You willing to accept a large permanent price increase in your monthly bill so you don't miss a day of Teen Mom?

No, it was taken at YOUR parent's house by yo moms right after I stole her birthday money and slapped her across the face with 9 inches of limp dick.
Nothing annoys me more than ignorant consumers that complain against companies without having even a basic understanding what they are complaining about.

A 30 percent increase from a contract 7 years old is ridiculous?

How did that bullshit work out for Netflix? It isn't about his $10 a week, but enough people switch then it will make a difference?
It actually worked out well for Netflix.
A lot of the customers that cancelled went back to Netflix.
Now instead of Netflix making $8 per customer per month before, they are now making $8 per customer per month for the half subscribers (dvds or streaming) and $16 per month for the full subscribers (dvds and streaming).

This isn't going to be the end of this action...........all the content providers are getting greedier. I'm glad to see DTV put their foot down..........& viacom is a good one to do it with. Their content is crap..........screw the "comedy channel".............so overrated........censored & full of commercials.

If you have kids it impacts with the loss of Nickelodeon. I love the ones siding with a company that made 5 billion in PROFIT last year. Never under estimate the stupidity of Americans. I am cancelling as well because my son LOVES Nickelodeon. There are far too many options.

@Steve....It worked out terribly for Netflix. Lost alot of their customers, hardly any came back. After they changed the prices, stock plummeted from over 300 down to 70. Big mistake for Netflix. But Direct TV is a whole other story.

YouTube clones for ALL TV show episodes aired up to last night. Commercials removed... (The only shows I have not seen on the YouTube clones are Maury(who's your baby's daddy), Jerry Springer, and Judge <insert a name> type shows) And I can easily live without them...
It irritates the hell out of me to have to PAY for the Privilege of watching commercials. Either charge me to watch the show... OR Put in commercials that pay for the show... Us old people can remember when you did not have to PAY to watch TV. Now I have to pay for the Privilege of watching commercials??? AND The commercials are 1/3 - 33% of the air time??? If you watch 3 hours of TV you are spending AN HOUR watching commercials??? I am PAYING to be insulted by moronic commercials that are geared to and IQ of an idiot???
AS to sports I pay for subscriptions to stream them over the internet.
The only thing left is news which has turned into pure shit on TV today. As one of the old people I easily remember when a news broadcast actually was more than sound bits and hype. Believe it or not, there was a time when the evening news was meant to inform, not entertain with cliff hanger sound bits and teasers for upcoming stories that turned out to be pointless drivel.
Hollywood and the broadcast industry need to pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and realize that the public has options today. And the control they once had as to when and how TV shows and movies can be AND are viewed is gone. I have NO objection paying for content. Content costs money, I DO get that...BUT, if I pay I want to watch what I want, when I want.
TV channels need to become internet sites. That you can subscribe to for a reasonable fee OR that stream show with commercials for a very nominal fee.

Direct TV is fighting for the consumer. Problem is you have 2 publicly traded companies here that need to answer to the investor. That 30% equals 1 billion dollars over 5 years in increases for DTV. This shit is the equivalent of pro sports. Brees makes 20 mill a year, the next guy is gonna wanna make more. Where is the ceiling? 10 years from now are you gonna have the 35 million a year QB that you watch on your $200 a month cable bill? Had DTV for years but moved into a place that has no line of sight. Cable blows
