I got to meet Miles, very briefly this weekend. Seems like a decent man. He looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders on Friday night and Saturday morning. I should also add (and, frankly this was quite a surprise) that the LSU players were almost universally polite, articulate, and respectful. They truly are a credit to the University and a positive reflection of Miles' character. You really get the impression that they would die for him. Kelvin Shepherd gave Les the game ball. Still, yesterday in New Orleans, I met two Tiger "fans" who still want him gone. Idiots.
As for this week, I played Baylor, Marshall (just a Memphis auto-fade), ULM, Purdue (bought to 14), and Rice. I think Cal's getting 6 too many, but beting against a team that can score 42 in a quarter is generally not a great idea (see, e.g., Hawaii last week ). Hoos probably hold the Fridge's fate in their hands. Not sure whether him staying would be good or bad. He's a little like Groh - good coach, who can't get anyone to come play for him. UVa's winning a bunch of 2-star recruiting wars inside the Beltway. Not sure who MD could get who'd be any better than what they've got.
GL.
Miles continues to baffle me year in and year out, I honestly don't think of him as a great football coach (just my opinion) but his players love him and play very hard for him, one thing I do like about Miles is he has stones, I love the fact that he didn't shy away from playing Oregon to start his season next year
