Ice- congrats on your 2000th post, I'LL drink to that if u dont mind...
sweet! didn't even notice... drink up!
i agree with Nostradomus... my favorite team is always the one that makes me the most money... i never have a problem betting on or against my favorite teams, because i only look at the money-making aspect of it...
if you look at it that way, it shouldn't matter who your favorite team is...

...im wacthing O.st vs Tex replay...Man, Pryor looks sweeeet!! i forgot how good he was for a frosh...i dont know now man, i might be switching sides, O. st. can win this one, O. st. 13-10 sorry Pete...

Here are my reasons why I think USC will win by 14 points or more.
Who has the better RB's? --- USC
Who has the better WR's? --- USC
Who has the O-line returning 100% of their players? --- USC
Who has a QB that can pass and run? --- Both teams
Even if our new QB has just an OK passing game, that should be enough. Last year Sanchez only passed at 60% with 1 INT. OSU passed at 70% and still only managed 3 points. USC also ran for 5.1 yards per carry. Since OSU will play Navy first, who runs alot, USC will learn alot from that game. OSU will learn very little from the San Jose St. game.
It will be a late game and by the 4th Quarter OSU will be pooped. We have a 3 hour advantage. USC can then put in one of it's fresh RB's and run like crazy.
Our defense was the best ever last year and won't be as good this year. But even if they are only the 10th best in the nation, that should be enough to keep OSU in check.
We play in Eugene, so playing at OSU will not freak us out.
I want to put the Vince Young thing in proper perspective. Texas led in that game for only 17 seconds. If USC had one more minute, we would have won. That year, USC had a lousy defense. Fresno St. scored 42 points on us!
I hope OSU is favored by 7. Should be a great game. Lots of fun, and lots of money, I hope!

I have followed USC football since 1969 and I have always been the first and the loudest at pointing out our problems. I suffered through the 3 bad coaches and the 14 years wasted. I paid my dues and now that we are doing so well, I intend to enjoy it.
What surprises me is that people don't understand that it's Pete Carroll's program that is great, not just a few big name players. Just because Sanchez left is no reason to doubt USC's offense. Sanchez was so overrated. There were so many times he forced a pass for an incompletetion when he had running room. Corp will not make that mistake.
I rarely bet on USC because the line can be crazy, and Pete ususally doesn't run it up. But, the Ohio St. game is an easy bet since so many OSU fans are fooling themselves into thinking last years game was a fluke, HFA will make a big difference and USC lost all three LB's to the NFL so now they are weaker. The new LB's are FASTER than those they replace and the offense will be a monster.
It doesn't matter who we played: Illinois, Michigan, Ohio St. or Penn St. We put them across our laps for a good spanking, then send them back to the Big 10 where they belong. Why is this going to be any different?

Ohio St. was ranked 105th in passing efficiency last year and lose their top WR's in Robiskie and Hartline. OSU will not be able to consistenly run on USC...USC wins by 17+ points

20-17 sounds about right. I cant decide which way I'm leaning. I wont be touching this game.
Pryor scares the heck out of me, especially with the new starting linebackers. He could very well have one of those 100 yard rushing/200 yard passing 3 td's type of game. He's due for a coming out party.
If USC win's, it will be due to the running game. I can see USC steamrolling the OSU defense, even if they do have a great dline. It wont matter with the oline USC has.

Who cares if the new LB crew is faster. They might shit their pants this game. I think Morgan is average. he looked great at time last year, but why? its pretty easy playing alongside the like of Maualuga and Cushing. Hell, Maiva was the Rose Bowl MVP and got drafted because of those guys.
They no longer have the security blanker of Maualuga/CUshing. Gallipo needs to prove he's worthy of being that stud linebacker everyone was expected. I hope he stays healthy before the season starts. I believe they lose Luther Brown due to academics. I was counting on him to bring the physical part of the linebacking group.

...did u know that Pryor lead the Big 10 in Qb pass. eff.? as a freaking True Frosh...

...alright look homey, i studied this trend over the last 3 years, that, when a team loses all 3str Lb's, that team does not cover in its first 2 lined games of the season...this year looks like Cal and Usc are getting faded...I like Cal wk1, so i will stay away...

Did YOU know OSU averaged 12 completions out of 21 attempts for an average of 150 yards per game? OSU QB threw for 200 yards in only two games (one was Youngstown St.) last year and they lose their best two WR's...how are they going to move it? QB draw on every play? I will also take HC Carroll over Tressel in a big game.

Double I respect your opinions, but remember me telling you last year that Ohio State would cover against Texas. If I am not mistaken, that was one of your bigger bowl game bets. People laughed at me when I consistently said take the points.
Are you honestly going to go big on a new starting qb in a hostile environment?? I could see if OSU had a terrible defense, but most reports I have read have their defensive line as the best in the country. That means they should be able to CONTAIN, not stop, the powerful USC running game. If they can do that, they are putting this QB into obvious passing situations and they can tee up on him. I know it is a big if, but this is the best d line at OSU since they won it all in 2002.
Look for Ray Small to play a big role in returning punts. He was very good last year and should get alot of looks in a tight game. I think he might have a break out party too. Ginn's dad said he is the best receiver he has ever coached and that includes his son. OSU has patiently waited for him for years.
Remember too, you will be paying highly for USC due to OSU's poor performance in the last few years. Line will probably be 1-2 points more than usual because everyone and their mother will still take USC.

Just some thoughts
O Nooo...
I did not forget the Texas Win but no Cover over Ohio St. Last year... While I still had a Winning Bowl Season the Horns ATS loss Hurt
Good Call Brother
The Horns played like the game didnt matter...
Yet Tressel still managed to choke again
Right now I would have no Problem laying upto 6 with the Trojans in this spot ....
The GOY lines have USC-3.... 25%+ of my bankroll should be on the Line

The buckeyes secondary is my biggest concern, if the d cant get off the field it will be a long day for them. With that said they are young at rb & wr, I would not be surprised to see Tressel running draw plays all day long successful or not. If the buckeyes get down early you will have a very quiet horseshoe from which I dont think they will return. As stated above I do like the fact that we get them at home and early and it would be a big win not only for osu but the entire lackluster big ten. It will be a very small homer play for me as I imagine much better plays on the docket. Come on CFB baseball is killing me... thanks for the thread I enjoyed reading it

Is it possible that the public is the one drinking the Kool Aid? The public was all over Texas in the bowl game, and they got smoked.
I am trying to give an objective opinion here. It is simple. New qb in a hostile environment against a good defense with a great d line. New front seven against a game changer QB that any D coordinator would have a hard time game planning against. On the road and laying more than they should because of the Kool Aid the public is drinking.
