-Tom O'Brien is just 12-10 at home since taking over at NC State 3 years ago and just 1-5 vs non-conf BCS schools.
-NC State is 2-0 SU and ATS to start the year, but the first was against Western Carolina and the other was on the road as a dog against UCF, a nice road win don't get me wrong. But look at the numbers in the UCF game: offensively, NC State was really unremarkable. Their 3 TD drives averaged 62 yds... they ended the last 9 possessions of the game with 0 pts, 73 total yards, and 7 punts. NC State had 40 carries for a 3.4 yd avg.
-NC State held a 21-7 edge in the UCF game until the Knights brought in Jeffrey Godfrey, a mobile QB who gave the NC State offense fits, coming within a score and a fumble at the end of the game. Collaros' mobility and ability to create plays with his arm and legs should cause problems for the Wolfpack.
-QB Russell Wilson played baseball this spring and it seems that he's still getting back into game shape... against UCF, he was 10 of 30 for 105 yds, which is great average for baseball but shitty for a QB. Perhaps one more tune up before their ACC opener against Georgia Tech next week.
-Defensively I think NC State has struggled with spread offenses and with a rebuilt d-line, and Cincy finding their running game last week (263 yds vs. Indiana St) this could be an opportunistic situation for the Bearcats.
-Butch Jones seems to have rectified the o-line after giving up 8 sacks to Fresno State in week one.
