I absolutely love this pick. Last year South Florida kicked the living chit out ofTemple defense that I feel was a little better than this years defense. The score: 44-23. Yes the game was a home game for South Florida but this was a major asss whooping.
Take a look at the offense this year of South Florida. There wins were against: Northern Illinois by 31 points 48-17 Syracuse which as a good offense by 25 points 45-20 Cincinnati by 25 points 45-20 East Carolina by 16 points 38-22 UCONN by 15 points 42-27
There only loss was against Florida State 55-35
All of the above teams were teams that put up a lot of points with exception of UCONN so the Bulls of South Florida did a great job defensively on all of them other than in the loss to Florida State. Now lets take a look at the Temple Owls wins: Beat a quality University of Central Florida on a last second TD 26-25 Beat a bad SMU 45-20 Beat a Charlotte team that is one of the worse team in NCAA Football 48-20 Beat a who the fuk is Stony Brook team 38-0
The Temple Owl losses: Army - 28-13 A very average Penn State team 34-27 A respectable Memphis team 34-27
The South Florida Offense: The QB for the Bulls Quinton Flowers is having a great year both running and passing the ball. The past 4 weeks he has completed over 60 percent of his passes while running for over 100 hundreds 3 of the past 4 weeks. The offense has scored more than 35 points in every game this year. The running game for the Bulls is also on fire, lead by a potential NFL running back named Marlon Mack. The running backs for South Florida have rushed for over 300 yards the past two games, so take that to the pay window!
The Temple offense is lead by QB PJ Walker who I feel needs to be a nursing home because it seems like he has been around forever and ever. They also have a good running back in I believe his name is Thomas. As a efficient QB that Walker is his accuracy is not that great and tends to be interception prone. The Owls offense this year has been good but they really not played anyone other than UCF and Memphis.
The Temple defense is doing a good job as of late holding UCF to 25 points and Memphis to 27, but they also have gave up way to many points to bad teams.
The South Florida defense has played very well considering the powerful offensive teams they have faced this year with the exception again of the FSU game.
What will happen: If the defense of South Florida can stop the run game of Temple or at least control this will be a very long night for the Owls, as the rushing defense I consider the weakest link of South Florida. It will also be interesting to see how Temple plans for the offensive attack of South Florida. They tried to stop it last year with a better defense and failed so I see nothing that they can do this year to slow it down either, especially how well both the passing and rushing game is working for the Bulls. It would not surprise me to see South Florida win by 17 to 20 points.
SNITCHES end up being bitches, or end up with stitches, and in ditches! #REALITY

Numbers are REALLY contradictory here. FEI has Temple D ranked 74th, and S+P has them ranked 16. The underlying individual numbers in the S+P suggest a ranking lower than that, maybe mid 30's. Prediction tracker has this game right around 6, but S+P says Temple +1 only.

You know, last year I lost on Temple in this spot. I thought, erroneously, that the stout Temple run D would force Flowers to throw, and that would be bad for USF. Alternatively, the soft run D of USF would allow Thomas to run wild. Turn it on and see Flowers and Mack running all over the place, 326, to only 121 for Temple. Man, that game was a crushing.
That Temple team was a cash cow last year, 9-4 ATS. Lost bowl. Same this year at 6-1 ATS.
