I'd like to see Unsportsmanlike conduct calls on coaches. Why is it OK for a coach to berate a player, when a player gets 15 yards for berating or taunting an opposing player?

LOL you can tell the guys who never played big time football. Back when I played in college we were lucky if we were JUST getting yelled at. Used to get grabbed around by our facemask and throw around all the time.
Kelly has every right to be mad when his team plays like that. Have you ever seen guys like Urban Meyer coach? Or Joe Pa in his younger days? Acted just like that.

It's perfectly fine to yell and cuss at your players when warranted. But as you continue to yell at them over and over, your message becomes less effective.
This is proven to be true. He needs to understand that yelling is most effective when you're not doing it 24/7. Because if you do it 24/7, the yelling turns his normal mode of communication. And your normal mode of communication doesn't stress urgency or anything else.

I have no problem with a coach doing a little screaming and yelling, but Brian Kelly's antics appear to me to be beyond the pale. He strikes me as a person who is more concerned about his legacy as a coach than the best interests of the of the young men he's been entrusted to coach and mentor.

Most people in these threads didn't play CFB at any level stan, but common sense for anyone is that he should tone it down, at LEAST when he is on National TV...I agree the kid fucked up a huge play, and was probably more the victim of Kelly's frustration with the whole day, and his team's red zone problems than just the one play, BUT kelly seems to do it too much IMO. Any "big time" CFB coach should have enough composure and class to at least wait until the locker room to unload like that.

All of these major college coaches are ego maniacs. Look at Kiffen for USC going for two on the first two TD's yesterday. What an idiot and it almost cost him the game.
College football is big business so its win at all cost or we'll get someone else. Doesn't make it right but a lot of pressure.

He had every right to yell. Irish home opener with high expectations this year and you get embarrassed at home by south florida? That was some sloppy shit.

When surface from a four day crash, bluebottle gobbed, and hear the children call Briana Kelly maggot mouth, and rise to find they've roped his guts, so fall you jessop. They crown him king cantaloupe, and gob him up a synapse bomb, so now he's a hooting leathersnake, not clocking his been prammed, to serenade the door of his ex wife, clocking glares of ice. Then find he's wandered back to school, and frit the squabs, and now here comes a teacher with a copper.

Cameras knew exactly what they were doing throughout the game....first couple shots of him yelling at...well everybody, and the remainder of the game kept going back to him on the sideline....and like clockwork, his yelling continued.
I think on one of the passes who went off the WR's helmet, QB came over to sideline and Kelly is screaming "are you f#cking kidding me!?"
Yes, yelling is good...for certain reasons...but on every single play?

why do u want to baby these players?he did what any great coach would do or use to do.that player made a boneheaded mistake and needed to have his rear end chwed out.
